@KingVFL want to say also I didn’t fabricate anything I said. I’m not into damaging peoples reputation for the heck of it. Just saying things I heard/was told and felt in person that I really had no reason to divulge previously.

If it’s not true then it will go wayside with all the other internet BS. I trust your info that he’s acting in good faith over a disgruntled player text. It’s not like I’m gonna go cancel my membership on one internet post. I also trust if it wasn’t him running this thing that we have others who would step up. I trust DW and JH. Go Vols!

Even with Matthews they are going after a top portal WR.

They play different positions so I would assume we go after Branch with or without MM.

None of that is true. Sounds like someone who doesn’t understand how the business works and with an axe to grind. Do you really think DW and TN would be working with Spyre if they were shady as hell?

Exactly. UT and their team of lawyers and accountants...the best that money can buy I am sure...review all the contracts AND financial documents pertaining to donations and payouts to the athletes. This would be the #1 top of the list condition in return for the privilege of representing UT and our athletes in any way. No way in Hell DW, Donde, the coaches or anyone else would let these companies that they personally have NO stake in whatsoever exploit the players...OR embezzle funds. IiRC Spyre publicly shows on their website what small % of donations goes to overhead to pay the people who actually work there. What I saw was single digits. Less than 10%. I want to say the thing I read stated 5% or something like that. If anyone else here knows differently from a credible source then please correct me...I don't want to spread misinformation. Regardless, I dont believe for a second that Spyre is taking a significant portion of donations OR exploiting the players.

I am also sick and tired of hearing about this bullcrap and cannot WAIT until the SEC at a minimum enacts a salary cap of $22M or whatever it is. Then we can get back to discussing football instead of greedy azz petulant children trying to squeeze every possible cent out of UT. What sucks is that like me, lots of people hate this NIL bullcrap with a passion already, and from what i have gathered 3/4 or more of the kids on our team and likely every team are content with the money they make...realize how lucky they are...and are zero problems. They will catch resentment and anger they never have deserved. The jackazz players and their agents are gonna catch Hell too...which they deserve. Better perform next season. When they dont, they will get absolutely ripped to shreds on social media whether the press gives em crap or not. As they deserve. Mike Matthews better be All SEC caliber next season for example if we pay him millions. If not...

I swear some in our fan base need to get a grip. That twitter post going around is ridiculous. We’ve literally had the best run ever in UT athletics across the board over the past 2-3 years. You know what that coincides with? NIL, Spyre, the Volunteer Club.

All this angst over 15 guys who were or will be recruited over.

Can’t take it back, said what I said. I apologize if it was off base, and I know it was probably uncalled for.

The tweet was oddly specific and I fell for it. I can be better.

The post about Hunter being one of our top recruiters is 100% correct. Dude grinds his ass off.

He’s perfectly happy to be working behind the scenes and let coaches get the glory. But when his integrity is questioned it’s worth mentioning so people know.

They said they were a package deal and we are technically looking for a safety. Makes a ton of sense for both parties.

If that does indeed end up being our WR room, at some point I would LOVE to see Branch, Boo and Staley on the field at the same time.

hubbs is a great dude. my sis was close to bobby denton, mike hammond, ed brantley and the dick broadcasting family. hubbs has just gotten his start. great guy, very loyal.

actually he and jimmy hyams, as well as bob all have great reputations around the donors, and golf club swingers.
