That could be a win/win for us. We either get a receiver or drain their NIL pool and maybe stir up trouble in that room. We move on in search of a winner. Be more fun if we move on and they lose him elsewhere on a braindead deal.

Happens alot with UT/Spyre unfortunately

2025 is his money-making season. He will be eligible for the 2026 draft. Would you feel like you could impress more scouts as Nico's #1 target or as a true freshman's #2 or #3 target?

Per AP, people "in the know," meaning people who are close to him and know the situation, are saying that Carnell Tate is not happy with being the #2 guy. And a lot of athletes share this same perspective. He is going to be in the shadows of Jeremiah Smith his entire career at OSU. So he seems to be looking for a #1 spot which is why he will entertain coming here, imo. I truly believe we have the money to spend for him if it does come down to a bidding war, but I don't think that's the main issue here. I'm sure $ is involved, but being "The Guy" is the biggest factor. Sure, OSU is gonna try to do whatever they can to keep him, but there's not much arguing that Jeremiah Smith IS and WILL BE the #1 during Tate's playing days at Ohio State.

This is very believable. They are both great players. Tate would be the #1 guy here and a dependable target. MM would also have an opportunity to shine. Jeremiah Smith is probably a top 3 pick when his time comes and if he's healthy could be the #1 pick. Those guys don't come around often.

That can't be possible. So many posters concluded it would make "no sense" for him to leave OSU for UT. How long does it take before people understand that we can't assume how other people view circumstances and think they are going to do something because it is "what we would do" in that situation. Who knows if Tate comes to UT. I certainly do not. But I also know that I have no idea how HE is processing his current circumstances.

"That doesn't make any sense! I would never do that in his situation."

Tate has shown more than any of the receivers we have now, so let’s bring him in. He could run the X, Brazzell the Y and MM the slot (yes I know Matthews was outside last year, but he could move inside)

MM, Tate and Staley imo. Brazzell had his moments but needs to be more physical. Tate would take his spot if they were competing.
