Yes. We passed on them because they weren't very good. We were reportedly very interested in the Branch bros, but the Branch bros had no interest in us. We didn't even get to speak financials with them because they didn't have an interest in coming here. There are wide receivers that came cheaper than Tate would that we passed on. It makes zero sense y'all are even entertaining this. If we get another WR (and I think we will) I doubt it's going to be anyone who would replace one of our projected starters. Because that's how we kept our projected starters.
He loves volnation, because he is a troll, and people can’t resist feeding him for some reason. I don’t know what would make someone want to be a troll, but I know they wouldn’t hang around if they weren’t being fedYou sure do post a lot for being so negative. I'm not sure I would spend so much time on a place I had so much hate for.
You're just demonstrating I know more about these situations than you do. And that's just because I follow the right people. I'm not trying to be mean, but you're trying to correct a post that didn't need correcting.Yes. We passed on them because they weren't very good. This kid was in line to start next year.
“Why would he leave”
Maybe Tate has the same reasons.
The thing is Hartline is under Kelly. Kelly’s offense has some similarities to Heupels. I see no issue with making the offer. But I know it would never happen. Heupel isn’t an out of the box hire type of guy.Would love to see that, but doubt Heupel would go with an OC that didn't run his type Offense. Heupel needs some new elements to his offense, but again I think he's too damn stubborn.. As far as Saban, he only left Miami because he knew his controlling a$$ couldn't control grow men. In a perfect world this would happen. It would solve our OC and WR issues and lack of production.
True, but to be fair... NOBODY averages 35 ppg against good defenses. The best offense in the country was Ohio State by a mile and they averaged 29.4 against Michigan and playoff teams. I could bring that number down a bit more if I included Nebraska. If you average in the mid 20s against the best defenses in college football, you're doing pretty good. Our average against playoff caliber defenses was 19.3 ppg (Bama, UGA, Ohio State) which, to your point, clearly isn't good enough. The offense was garbage this yr and we only averaged 35 bc of the FCS and MAC games.
You are wasting your time. The guy who you are responding to lives it when TN loses. He gets off on it.True, but to be fair... NOBODY averages 35 ppg against good defenses. He used us once for a pay bump. Why wouldn’t he do it again.I hate to be negative, but it really feels like Tate is likely to use Spyre/UT as leverage to get more from OSU. The only reason I could see him leaving is if there's some stuff going on in the background at OSU that he's not happy about or he thinks the coaches are going to bump Innis over him and he'll be WR #3 again next season at OSU. I guess there's always the chance that their 5* freshman QB has looked bad in practice and he doesn't trust him. We'll see. I actually like the look of our WR room and think Tate would just be icing on the cake.
Understandable. But the problem is that Tate wants to be "The Guy." Not "the guy that lives in the shadows of Jeremiah Smith." That's the problem. This makes no sense. I'd take Tate in a heartbeat, but OSU has put WR after WR into the NFL. Didn't matter if they were WR1 or WR2 or even WR3, OSU has put WRs in the league. If there are serious questions about QB, I could see that. If Hartline is leaving, I could see that. But being upset about playing next to Smith? If anything, that opens up more targets for him because Smith will draw the double.
