Yes. This year’s Spring is going to be a bit more cutthroat all over. We do not have the luxury of keeping guys who can’t get on the field at Safety. I can see one or two guys leaving if they don’t make big leaps. The shopping list is the same as it was three weeks ago. Any hole we haven’t filled is still a place we need help.
It’s a bit of a branching narrative. There are two safeties that we’ve talked to that could come before Spring depending on a potential coaching change (head coach). I think this is getting less likely as nothing has happened and it’s getting harder to meet class/drop add deadlines. Separately there are guys we have our eyes on post Spring. There’s a chance we stand pat if some younger guys have a great Spring, but I can’t imagine a scenario where we don’t add someone with the potential to upgrade there.
They did not want them all to go but was not and is not the end of the world. I think White for the right price was ok but not for what he wanted. So with what it would take to keep them, it was fine to let them hit the door. Nimrod had all the talent in the world and he was not trusted any longer. He could have earned it back but his playing time dropped a ton after too many drops.
Even better than are HOF Coach Majors. Love this staff and the fact that even assistant coaches ran from this Job knowing what sanctions were coming. Heupel has never made excuses even though he knows his rosters have been shorthanded and he is building this with High School Players first and fill in with Portal. Future continues to get better.
