This is the current world of P5 college football. Guys like theses got deals then balled out and are going to get better deals either with us or somewhere else. Guys like Matthews got a deal on HS potential and didn’t ball out. Now he’s looking for another team. It’s become a cutthroat systemAll of this makes sense and is how it works now.
Carter got a freshman deal and then balled out. He's probably fielding bigtime offers. I assume we're prepared.
McCoy got a deal that reflected one season of solid work in the P10. He's now arguably the top returning CB in the country next season. I assume we're prepared.
Sampson is likely getting draft feedback that reflects a guaranteed amount of money that's not beyond the realm of possibility for us to pay. Does it mean we'll come to an agreed upon amount when both sides weigh the pros, cons, and opportunity costs? Not necessarily, but it could absolutely happen. At which point at least one of our existing RBs will likely hit the portal, too.
They went to the same High School so I assume they know each other.I know that Long Beach is a pretty big place. But wonder if Nico knows him.
I read somewhere that he has a Polynesian background.
