For all the posters who “know,” what we should be going after and sign, hate to break it to you…

BUT

You don’t “know.”

I know that’s so hard to wrap your mind around.

Sitting on your phone evaluating things, you actually don’t know what’s going on. Cripes that’s so hard to swallow

That’s a coach paid millions and there every day with deep relationships with his team, recruits coming in and so much more, somehow MIGHT know more than you looking at a spread sheet and stars.

Swallow your pride.

Laugh at yourself for your stupidity

Maybe Boo plays both sides
That’s not smart nor sustainable in the SEC. If he goes down they have to replace 2 positions and he will be lining up across from future NFL players on an almost weekly basis. This isn’t the Big 12 (which is essentially a glorified mid major conference). Now if we had a future 1st round pick at safety or star and they could play Boo around 30 snaps a game on both sides it might be feasible. But I think at most they try to work him into getting 8-10 touches a game if anything

The guys who left were all wallpaper. They were never going to start or even meaningfully contribute
I’m surprised all of them are in. Staff has shown they’ll play vets who are in the right spot. Those guys are all outside receivers and are an injury to Brazzell or Matthews away from starting. I get 1 or 2 going, but not all 3.

TJ Shanahan no longer visiting per AP. Says Northwestern OL Josh Thompson may visit next week if he makes it in
It was strange we would allow him to visit anyway. We already have young unproven guys on the roster lol.

Matthews has shown he can throw a block, so maybe he takes over Bru's spot? Brazzell on the other side and Squirrel in the slot. Then Staley. But unless we plan on playing true freshmen, definitely could see us taking a couple of WRs. Or, I wonder if we would consider making Seldon a WR?
Don’t sleep on Harmon. He’s good enough to contribute in the next couple of years.

Like 9 of those are walk-ons, not scholarship. Our returning scholarship WRs are Squirrel, Matthews, Brazzell, and Staley. Smith and Jackson are EE's. Dodson will join in the summer. So 7 scholarship WRs next year with 3 of them being freshmen. Seems light, but I trust the coaches until they give us reason not to.
Thanks for the clarification.

I don’t need to laugh at myself for my stupidity. My wife does that for both of us!

Apparently AP just said on the radio that he doesn’t anticipate Tennessee to pursue WR in the portal. Interesting.
… I have this weird feeling…
We’re going to throw the kitchen sink at Ohio State with offensive play calling.

We win.

The next weeks after that Jeremiah Smith commits to Tennessee ❤️

I have a hard time believing we wouldn’t take a WR out of the portal. Really surprising to hear AP say he thinks we don’t.
AP could be wrong. I mean we will be losing Bru, Thorton, Webb, Nimrod, Leacock and Spillman. Like you, I don’t know how they can’t look for a WR.

Huge mistake if we don’t at least take 1 receiver from the portal.

Matthews
Brazzell
Squirrel
Staley

Yes I know we have some nice freshman coming in but to rely on all of them in the SEC doesn’t make any sense. Plus we have seen this year how banged up our WR core has been.

What’s going to happen if Squirrel is still injury prone and one of Brazzell or Matthews goes down? That’s razor thin in terms of production
You definitely freaked out when all of those mediocre DBs left in the portal last year, didn't you?

Same thing happened last year with the Herrings and Caleb stayed
Exactly. One brother wanting to go somewhere where he can play doesn’t mean the more talented brother will be upset at the program. Nate and Elijah aren’t good enough to start at an upper tier program that competes for championships. Edwin and Caleb are that kind of talent.

Unless you’re LeBron and Bronny lmao 🤣

Regarding the wide receivers and the staff’s seeming reluctance to add any, I think back to the 2022 season. That was the best our wide receivers have performed in the Heupel era. We only used four receivers that year, and Keaton was only because Tillman got hurt. Maybe they just plan on shortening the rotation next season. It would make sense.
