Maybe can get some additional eligibility out of some of our guys...

kinda nuts if you think about it lol. There have actually been quite a few 8 year players recently with the COVID bump but seeing this all on a chart makes it hilarious. Also most of those guys have been fringe2-3 star types... Rising was a 4 star top 10 QB.

Mike Mathews is hands down the best wr we have and it isn't close. The kid can play and it was criminal he didn't play more just from talent alone. Guy will be a stud.
Injury early in the year really impacted his play time. Wondering if there was more to his injury and recovery than the public knows.

I think this staff has been hesitant to "trust" younger players in bigger roles too. It seems like there is a culture of experience, maturity, and leadership trumping raw talent. I think that is fair, but we want the best guys out there, not the oldest.

If he runs routes and contests balls as hard as he blocks downfield, then I think we have a good one ready to bloom at the right time this season and have a breakout season next year. A lot of folks were spreading junk rumors about him in the mid season slump about him being mad at his playing time yady yada, but then he comes out and starts blocking DBs like they talked trash about his momma. That is an unselfish play and shows he is committed.

Would you put Fluff Bothwell in front of or behind our men? Or maybe just float him both ways?
Gotta get him here first.

It’s big step going from where he was to the SEC, but I’ve read stuff about when he was in HS that his coach never helped him get his name out there…basically it was just him and his mom doing everything. Judging by that, I’m assuming he didn’t have the funds/ability to do showcases, etc.

Imo, he would have a great chance to AT LEAST be the #2 back.

Love to have the Fluffer rushing thru the checkerboards.

The only thing that worries me is if you look at his season, the only game he performed poorly was against LSU. That could be for a number of reasons, but 800+ yards on a little over 100 carries definitely gets your attention.

Yeah, I saw that as well. I won’t use the level of competition as an excuse because some don’t like it.

Definitely something to be worried about.

I don’t see any rb we may potentially take in the portal beating out Peyton Lewis or cam seldon, and probably not bishop either.

We don’t seem to pay up for rbs (minus Sampson due to overall skill set and leadership and familiarity with system). I assume it’s because huepel thinks his system can make good rbs out of anyone.

I imagine the skill set, and familiarity/years in program from both a physical development and culture fit perspective, for the aforementioned 3 would beat out any guy that would come in. JMO

i am not buying Fluff as a starter for Tennessee ever

he will do fine in the pac. he experienced what running in the sec looks like when he averaged 1.7 yards a carry against LSU. He crushed it against a 1-11 southern miss, an 0-12 NW state, 5-6 Appy st, and a 5-7 ULM and disappeared against teams with talent. I am sure he's exciting if you look at only numbers but upon examination.... nah

Wendell Moe from Arizona and Tennessee have been talking a good bit… It would not shock me to see him potentially visit here soon if they can work it out.

James Thompson from Wisconsin has tweeted out that he will be here and I am told it will be on the back end of the weekend and first of the week.

And Josh Thompson from Northwestern, as we have said we’ll be here middle of the week.

Your opinion, and that’s fine.

Coaches think differently if they are offering Bothwell and Wayshawn Parker.

Some people are just too attached to current players.

So offering someone to warm the bench.

Makes sense!

I thought Callahan said we weren't recruiting Moe? That can't be!

Callahan is all over the place sometimes 😂

Somehow you have to factor in him not running behind an SEC line. He definitely has talent, just not sure if it translates. Sometimes it's easier to tell for a WR, RB's can be a little tougher. I've not seen video of this guy either.
