Yes please. #5 true freshman RB in my grades.

If we get a portal RB, you’re almost certainly going to run 1-2 of our players off. I saw more than enough from Lewis/Bishop to make me believe that one more year of development can lead to them being a dynamic 1-2 punch.

I’d much rather use our money on a dynamic WR. That is where we are lacking and need an explosive playmaker next year.

Arion Carter is absolutely a difference maker.
Spillman will be eventually.

But I support getting another LB from the portal if he is dynamic.

Harmon will also be a difference maker.
Carter is brutal in coverage. Great otherwise, though.

I think we don’t need to take a running back now we got morris in the boat.

I’d be shocked if we did.

Lewis and Bishop look to be the next 1,000 yard rushers and we have serious talent in Seldon, Keith, Morris, & Baker next up

Barring injury we are big time set up for success at that position. Bring me LB & S & OL

Would not be mad at an elite FG kicker as well
Unlike Samson last year, none of our RBs have significant experience. We need a portal RB. It doesn't have to be 1k yard rusher like the Hardy kid from ULM. But we need a RB with experience nonetheless.

Someone like TJ Harden from UCLA would along the lines of what we need.

You're going to need to guarantee a portal RB playing time - and money - to get anyone that's even half decent. Don't see how we can do the former and I don't think it's a good allocation of resources to do the latter. JMO, of course.

To get a top RB? Sure. But there will be dozens or more experienced RBS looking for a bigger role or simply not happy where they are. With no clear starting RB returning, we can provide that opportunity.

Leading into this year, this program's Achilles heel had been the secondary. Specifically, CBs. We brought in Boo, McCoy, and Jacobe Thomas. The secondary made a huge jump this season.

The big concern now is the Oline. If we can improve the Oline as much as we improved the secondary between 23 and 24, this offense will be elite in 2025. I'd expect that to be the focus above all else. That starts with the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. Perry, Satterwhite, Ginther, Anderson, Warren, and J. Heard are all exciting prospects entering their 2nd season next year. We'll see a jump in their ability because of development. The second part of the Oline improvement will come from the portal. We'll sign between 2-4 Olinemen from the portal, I would guess. If it's only 2, that tells me the staff feels good about the likelihood of these 2024 freshmen making a jump.

Bama thinks Justice Haynes will enter the portal.

He’s more in line with who you’re talking about.

Why we need a WR from the portal if we have Brazzell, Squirrel, and MM as the projected starters? Still would have Leacock (total unknown), Nimrod, Webb, Staley, and 3 freshman WRs. Is that portal WR suppose to take MM or Brazzell spot????

Same goes for LBer. Everyone that is currently playing is coming back (6 total) and we bringing in 3 additional freshman LBers.

I don't see a need at either spot unless someone leaves.

We may not have a clear starting RB but we have 2 clear contenders. Again, by definition a portal RB is looking for more PT than he's getting AND/OR more money. We cannot guarantee that opportunity, IMO.

Agree. RB is not a portal need and this staff has never gone to the portal for RB.

We are limited to 83 scholarships. With what we currently have committed, plus what's returning (minus Sampson, who I think is gone), we're at 92. Then add Isaiah Campbell, Timothy Merritt, and maybe Jadon Perlotte. That puts us at 95. So we're already having to cut down 13 even before adding anyone from the portal. This tells me we'll be very selective. And RB just isn't a big need with what we have returning. I don't think WR is a big need either, given who returns and the 3 talented freshmen. We need OL and DT. Maybe a LB and/or Safety if he's the right dude. I don't see us taking more than 6-7 portal guys. If that's the case, we'll have to lose 19-20 more dudes to get to 83. UNLESS we can move a few from scholarship to "NIL Scholarship."

BTW, my numbers include Eason and Karic (who I think wins a medical RS) coming back and do not include Lang, who's entered the portal, or Konanbanny or Hayward.
