Damn. That’s super disappointing. He was going to bust heads next year. Hope we can convince him to stay.Cameron Seldon to the portal very soon
If he is indeed leaving why put a family member on the spot? lolDamn. That’s super disappointing. He was going to bust heads next year. Hope we can convince him to stay.
Say it ain’t so @Plove23
Lean on our ol, And the run have really should be a4 headed monster between Sampson, bishop, Lewis and Nico.Their QB just isn’t that good.
Their RBs are.
Their WRs are.
Their OL sucks.
Their D is pretty stacked.
It’ll be the most high-end talent we play this year. Pure match up wise for what they do well and what we do well, it’s not a bad one for us for how talented they are. If we can run the ball, stop the run and get pressure.. I really like where we are.
The one wildcard is where are they from a mental standpoint? They looked broken against Michigan. If they come out like that, could this spiral? I really think so.
So all in, if we’re not able to get home and they can run the ball, this could be a rough one given how talented they are. But if their team is mentally at all like their fan base is or how they looked against Michigan, I like where we are.
I could see Seldon moving to receiver...maybe even getting moved there as a contingency plan during the playoffs. He has great potential at RB, but if he's injury prone then that might not be the best long-term fit. He was originally a receiver and it shouldn't surprise anyone if he is moved there. He has the speed and size to be a good one.
You usually say the "writing was on the wall" when someone legitimately gets passed on the depth chart. He only got passed because he was injured. He was RB2 behind Sampson before his first injury and then got hurt again. The guy is very talented, but probably not durable enough to play RB. I still think he would be great at WR, but maybe he just wants a new start. Hate to see it.Writing was on the wall when bishop and Lewis passed him. Sucks that early season injury happened to him. Was hoping we got to see what he could do. Best of luck to him
Really? I remember it differently. Thought he wanted to be wide receiver and we took him and then convinced him he’d have a quicker path to playing time at RB. I still think it would be a mistake to leave. If he stays he is option 1a/1b next year and he’d be great if he stays healthy. He should have always been a WR here. I know that the reason we landed him was because we promised him a shot at RB...but he just isn't a natural RB. He runs too upright and lacks vision that the best RBs have. Those that also played football at least thru HS already know this...but footwork for a RB is TOTALLY different than for a WR. Which foot to plant and where, how to shift your weight and lean your body in order to have drive for YAC etc. Its completely different. Thats why RBs are very rarely lined up at WR. They come from the backfield on wheel routes, short crossing routes, or into the flat etc. The way WRs run routes is very specific down to their posture, feet, hips, shoulders, hands...everything. Running good sharp routes is a very exact science for a WR.
Running backs have exact techniques and body control for what they do as well. Seldon still runs like a WR...after 2 full years trying to be a RB. He needs to be playing Slot WR IMO...and I will not be surprised if he leaves because Lewis already passed him, and Baker/Morris will too if he stays at RB.
On a side note: Sampson is a very good RB catching passes from the backfield. We should have thrown him the ball more this season. Hope we do in the playoffs. I listened to Hyatt in an interview today and even he remarked how good Sampson is at catching the ball and running after the catch. He said that even as a freshman Sampson impressed him with his good hands and YAC.

Someone in Knoxville get this kid a fat NIL deal! @Ericvol2096
You’re correctMaybe you're right and I remember it wrong? I remember watching his tape etc and he came from a small classification school in VA, but was dominant. Played both positions in HS. If I am wrong about the RB promise thing then I apologize? Somebody here probably remembers better than me bud.
Regardless, i think he is a great athlete and would love to keep him. I just think he is a natural WR and should probably be in the slot OR a 3rd down back maybe running the "dump it off" routes especially when nobody is open downfield.
The problem with that is that those guys were there before the transfer portal. There is zero chance UGA keeps Gurley, Chubb, and Michel in the era of the transfer portal.Same reason as Alabama.
D'Andre Swift
Nick Chubb
Zamir White
James Cook
Sony Michel
Keith Marshall
Todd Gurley
That's an attractive success rate, and each one believes they're better than the other.
