With the lack of talent/supporting cast Miss St has they’re going to have to overpay to convince any half-decent QB to go there.

If I was Van Buren I would rather go be a QB at a top Big 12 team than have to play every game at a distinct talent disadvantage

Ditto. Plus it’s actually a benefit for a quarterback to not be one of the first few picks and be forced to play before they are ready. You might also get to go to a better team and actually learn and develop first. It’s amazing how few of the top quarterbacks picked actually works out.

But every one of them are financially set for life if they don’t do stupid things with the $millions!

Mississippi State or Florida are the two best candidates to be that game that Tennessee blows on the road as a favorite next year (like SC 22, Florida 23, Arkansas 24). And Florida may not qualify, since they should be pretty good next year.

That being said, I’m OK with Mississippi State having a bad QB situation.

Would’ve been fine either way. Miss St is more than a QB away from being able to beat the Vols

You’re premature thinking we’ll be favored at Florida next year as they appeared to be getting the ship righted this season. JMO
