Possible Replacement For Serrano?

I'm not going anywhere with it. He schedules the games, he doesn't have to do it, he chooses to do it...maybe the program gets paid, but he's gone from not being able to win any to a winning record in the midweek versus the SEC...granted South Alabama and Louisiana Lafayette are at the top of spending in that league, Calvi got the admin to buy into it, we need that...mucho.
He's a tough nosed coach I can tell you that.

Not sure exactly where you are going with this but as long as the mid major coach is occasionally beating the big boys that's good enough for me but it does look like he is Building

Besides Greg goff is my new man crush.

Truth he told I would love to have either

I'll say this. I think both of these guys will be at a bigger school sooner rather than later. Calvi is a very aggressive recruiter. He is a lot like Kevin O'Sullivan in his demeanor. Very no nonsense and is not afraid to ruffle feathers if that's what is needed. The guy has been through the pressure cooker a few times in his career and he does have a national championship ring.

You know your stuff. Sometime soon maybe we can have a beverage together

He is a ruthless recruiter for sure. Would be a big change but might be exactly what we need

Thanks. Without tipping my hand too much I'll just say that my knowledge of what is going on in Mobile is very good. He has had a good run down there. They have won outright or tied for the Sun Belt regular season title 3 of the past 4 seasons. Last season they lost in the tournament championship game to ULL 2-1 in 12 innings. Didn't get a bid because of an RPI in the 80's despite 37 wins. This season they are limping to the finish line and allowed ULL to catch them and share the league title. I fear that without a championship game appearance next week they may get left out of the tournament.

I think he would jump at the job offer.

You agree?

I think the realistic list of candidates is(if a change is made)

Calvi
Goff
Leggett

I hope like hell for the younger choices

Who are we kidding, if Leggett wants it it's his...we're talking Dave Hart here.

It will be very interesting to see what jobs do open up as that will influence who is available. It seems Texas will be available. Very interested to see what they do. I imagine they will shoot for the stars.

Texas is a done deal it seems

I would doubt that job effects ours any

He wanted auburn

Our $ compares to theirs per your data doesn't it?

Sorry to quote the same post twice, in addition to having a better recruiting base Auburn spends over 2 Million on baseball, so yes they were on the government data...not mine.

@KendallRogersD1: For “bigger” schools out there wanting a game-changing head coach, Mervyl Melendez should be looked at. Amazing track record at every stop.

Definitely deserves a promotion somewhere, but going from a school with practically open enrollment in the lowest-RPI D1 conference to SEC is a huge leap.

He totally owned the MEAC for a long time before going to Alabama State, which says something good about his ability to build and maintain a program--but again, that's a bottom-tier conference and B-C is another school where a 750 combined math and verbal SAT is enough to get a recruit through the front door.

He is one more successfully stop away from being an sec candidate
