Here is the run down on coaches:
1. CLK HC
2. Monte DC
3. Chaney OC will work with OL as well
4. Orgeron DL/RC
5. Cregg OL considered by many NFL guys (Pat Kirwin) as a very good OL coach
6. Reaves QBs
7. Garner LB
8. GONZALES/Trooper/Skipper? WRs?
9. Drayton/GRAN? RB
10. LAKE/Perry (Prolly a DBs coach)

I would love to have Jeremy Bates on this staff to coach QB's and let Reaves run the WR's but I don't think that will happen. If not, I hope Gonzo will coach WR's. I also hope Gran is on board. Everyone on this staff can recruit. I hope the staff can mold that talent into champions.

I think Cregg will coach OL and Chaney will be OC/TE coach. Chaney was a TE coach for the Rams and Cregg was considered an up and coming OL coach with the Raiders. I hope Gran comes on board so we have a ST's coach and a top notch RB's coach. Drayton should be cut loose. Gonzo should not come here simply because of Drayton. All his recruits left and he is not considered a great position coach. I am concerned that he hasn't been offered any interviews like Scott. We only have room for 10 coaches total, including Lane, so some coaches will have to perform double duties.

FWIW

STUD is reporting on Volchat - Gonzo is coming to UT, TT is out of the picture. TT will interview at Auburn, Miami, and FL.

Stud has been wrong a lot during this hiring process, but I would love to see it. Trooper at Florida would be hilarious.

I saw Billy Gonzales on here, and thought "There's no way he'll leave", but upon further thought I've come to the foregone conclusion that it's highly possible, especially with Dan Mullen going to Mississippi State.

I was a bit surprised that Chuck Heater, Florida's defensive backs coach, was left off the list. He's a great at developing players at that position, although I wouldn't expect him to go either.

It is amazing what a few bucks could do to a coach, though, especially a higher position at a University with a higher integrity than that of Florida's.

Heater may be a possibility before it's all said and done.

Jimmy Lake apparently will take the Darren Perry/Brian Schneider/Kelly Skipper route and stick it out in the NFL. We still need a DBs coach and, at the moment, we have no real candidates.
