Not really related to our search anymore, but Chris Mortensen just reported that the Broncos want to keep Jeremy Bates on the new staff.

Garner is in play right now. Not sure what position he would coach if he is brought in. We have LBs, DBs, TEs, WRs, and RBs open with Cregg taking one of those. STs is open but we won't likely have strictly a STs coach.

Not sure. Seems like Garner is talking to alot of teams right now. Doesn't seem like he's dedicated to UGA. If it's about the money, I think we pull him for 350-450k.

I figured we would look to him if O passed on us, but not after we landed O.

He can coach just about any position we have left and I'm sure we could throw some sort of title to him. You can never have too many assistant HCs.

IIRC, Lane said in an interview with 99.1 that he plans on having a special teams coach, and doesn't want to divide the duties of ST and another position with one coach.

Nah, he'll take a position. Unless Monte or Lane take a position, every position will have its own coach and STs will be assigned to one of them. He can coach just about any position we need him to, though.

Yes, the fact that Hamilton is meeting with him means that Lane wants him and that they are discussing numbers. If they can agree it will be a done deal.

do i have this right , wasn't he the TE and Tackles coach here? and DL at UGA? if so i would lean toward him being the TE coach and has he coached any other positions?

i could see putting him at TE and i guess another recruiting coordinator. I think we'll grab him he has a background at Tennessee and seems to be wanting to leave GA. Any word on Gonzales from any sources or is this just us dreaming?

News on Gonzo will come after the NC game.
Word is Miss St. and UT are in the mix, as well as him staying at FL.
