Just heard John Brice from Volquest on the Sports Monster and he said that Gran has had 3 interviews with UT and he looks for him to be added to the staff in the next couple of days. He also said Stan Drayton would probably be let go in the next couple of days and the he thought the UT staff would be in place within a week to 10 days.

He also said Kiffin is still working on Gonzales and looks for UT to make him a big offer to lure him away from FL.

Gonzo would be a great hire and would help us land some of the visiting WR's. I am not very optimistic but I have my fingers crossed.

I spoke this morning with a player in one of my classes, and he said that Billy Gonzalez is a done deal for our staff. He was positive and said he's "signed and everything." This is my first post, and the player was a former walk-on, so take it for what it's worth.

According to Brice this morning, Kiffin is most certainly not done with Gonzales. He said to not count him out by any means. He also said Eddie Gran was all but a done deal. I guess only time will tell if John Brice knows what he's talking about.

I'd take Watson and O for the front seven. Throw in Gran at RBs and all we need is a WRs coach and DBs coach. Maybe we make a hard run at Gonzo (doubtful) and one of Perry/Whitt Jr. Only problem there is the same nagging issue (lack of racial diversity). The fact that Gonzo is so unlikely would likely mean that we go after an AA WRs coach.

Regardless, Monte, O, and Chaney have been doing so many interviews over the past few days that we have no idea who we are leaning towards other than Gran coming along and Drayton being released, most likely. That still leaves us 3 open spots.

Does anyone know how good of a coach Gonzalez actually is. We all know he's a great recruiter but would actually improve our WRs? I mean, could he be the guy that turns Rod Wilks into a superstar? :)
