Could Gran possibly coach the WR here and Drayton stay on?

Gran played as a WR and has coached WR three times in his career (not since 1994). I would say it's possible. It wouldn't be without precedent for him to move a position coach as the Garner situation proved. If he would consider moving coach O off of the D line, he'd consider putting Gran (or maybe Drayton) at WR. Plus, CLK has extensive experience coaching WR, which would mean he could assist one of those coaches with the transition. Nothing has been said about it, but I wouldn't discount the possibility.

I would imagine that Cregg moves to the offensive side of the line now as O line coach,,,, yes?

Maybe I am underestimating Gran, and believe me, I think Gran would be a great addition, but the "Ace" up CLK's sleeve?

I hope/believe that if there is an "Ace" it is somebody big

In retrospect, was Lance Thompson the "ace"?:)

I thought Cregg was TE and Chaney would handle OC and OL duties.

I had thought someone reported Cregg would handle the Linebackers a couple of days ago,, but either taking over TE or Ol makes more sense.

By the way, what does a TE coach do besides workiing with what, four people at the most?

Even though the titles are very specific, I'm sure there is much more fluidity to the actual coaching. I can see Cregg helping on TE, OL, and maybe even some on defense, regardless of his title. The guy with a certain title might be in charge of that position but I think the coaching is more of a concerted effort than we typically think.

I keep hearing Gran's name, is he all but an absolute lock or what?

According to multiple sources, yes. The only reason I'm not absolutely convinced is simply because he hasn't been hired yet (duh). I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but until I know what that is I'm not calling it an absolute lock.

Personally I think they were wanting to wait until closer to NSD to give Lane, Orgeron, and the rest of the staff time to build a relationship with Drayton's recruits.

Maybe he is hoping Drayton would take aother job. Maybe, he was waiting on Gran to accept the job. I don't care. I just want Drayton out. What happened to the Middleton thing?

Reportedly Middleton turned down a pretty hefty contract. I'm not too sad... it would have been an awkward fit, similar to Garner.

Only thing I've seen new on Gonzo is apparently CLK is after him pretty hard, but no one feels good about anything happening.

I think James Lofton would be a good hire for WR coach but CLK probably has bigger things in mind.
