Potential Jeremy Pruitt Staff At UT

I look at Pruitt as a defensive version of Lane Kiffin. Has a little baggage regarding character, but players like playing for him, he can recruit and he has a little swagger. At least this is my perception of him.

I don't disagree with you, but I think we all have some baggage in one way or another.

So, the word is he is taking less money and wants more guarantees for staff/analysts -- everything they have at Bama. So, we can expect a great staff, but on paper Butch Jones had a great staff. New S&C coach, 3 former head coaches. How does a staff that experienced f___ things up so badly?

Kendall Briles as OC

14th ranked offense with 3-9 FAU talent

Easy to get (low buyout I assume) and a FU to Kiffin.

I hope this means we get away from the "read" option offense. We will be playing big boy "smashmouth" football soon.

If we hire ANY coordinator and he doesn’t bring on Tee Martin as OC, that’s the last straw for me.... Having Tee back is the only thing that could make this pathetic hire tolerable.

I don't think Coach Pruitt is a pathetic hire, at all. He is the kind of guy who makes me think some men were born to coach football. We have hoped and prayed for someone who would coach up our players. I am confident that Coach Pruitt will do exactly that. He KNOWS the game, and he loves players who want to learn it.

Because this sucks and we should be able to at least hire a HC that has some experience.

Kiffin had HC experience 7-6-0
Dooley had HC experience 15-21
Jones had HC experience 30-21

Dickey was an assistant when hired Zero HC experience 46-15-4 Took over a dormant program. Previous 6 years 30-27-3 under 2 Coaches

Fulmer was an assistant when hired Zero HC experience 152-52-1

Since 1963 UT has hired only 1 successful coach with previous HC experience----Johnny Majors 116-62-8 took over a dormant program. Previous 4 years 28-17-2 which had gotten worse every year.

Kiffin was a bad hire
Dooley was a horrible hire
These 2 had 1 person in common Mike Hamilton

Jones was a mediocre hire done in desperation.

You mean go back to the old tired playbook Majors and Fulmer ran? The one everyone said was garbage and everyone knew how to stop?

Newsflash---that Offense is still good the problem was a lack of good players to run it and a poor coaching staff.

Read Option didn't work at UT because of the stubbornness of the HC. It only works when there is a threat of a real option

The best Offense would be a combination of both...keep the defense out of step

So we just dont say anything about the Baylor rape cover up stuff with him?

The only alligation I have seen connected to Kendal is in a lawsuit against Baylor by a victim that alleged he told recruits to come to Baylor "because we have white girls that like football players." This is just the allegation in the complaint of the civil suit. Nothing has been proven against Kendal that has been released so far.

Baylor did not fire him when they fired his Dad(stayed on as OC over the 2016 season until Rhuel was hired) nor has the NCAA did anything.

I read in one of the articles about the Pruitt hire about an overhaul of the S&C program. Makes me wonder if Rock is gonna have the leash taken off?

You can bet on it and the players will now be held accountable

Because Butch had no dang clue what he was doing. If you think it is ok to have voluntary weightlifting sessions for your players then you don't have a dang clue what is going on. He also showed favoritism towards players, didn't require discipline. He was a disaster
