Prayers Needed for a fellow VN Member

Tonight's update on Ash: Things are pretty stable, though he's still very, very sick. Revision surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am. He's awake now. Feel free to send cards, but he won't be up to calls or visits for awhile.
Can't wait to go see him soon!
That was 7:30 this morning, no update on how it went, yet

Come on AshG!! Dig deep and kick this infections ass!!! Our prayers are with you and your family!

Here are the last few updates:

Last night:
Tonight's update on Ash: Things are pretty stable, though he's still very, very sick. Revision surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am. He's awake now. Feel free to send cards, but he won't be up to calls or visits for awhile.

This morning:
Ash did well in surgery today; please continue sending prayers. Because we are still in Critical Care, we can't have live plants or decorative arrangements. Cards are the best bet.

This evening:
Tonight's prayer requests: We praise God for the miraculous healing over the last 8 days (though more is still needed). We ask for strength to deal with the challenges and changes life has thrown our way in the last week. Pray that Ash can be extubated tomorrow so that we can chat. He has a small procedure in the morning that I expect to be routine, but prayers sure help. Many thanks to everyone for all your support and prayers.

To send cards and whatnot, you can reach him at:

Thank you Crusse! You yourself are a blessing for keeping us updated. Continuing prayers for Ash's recovery, and prayers for his family and caregivers!

From his wife:
The great news today is that Ash got the tube out. We got to talk about where things are and what has been going on while he was sedated. Hopefully, we can set up face time with the kids on an iPad tomorrow. Yes, all you Androidphiles, I said iPad. Give him a hard time when you see him next :) Hopefully, he'll be allowed to drink something tomorrow; I know that will make him feel better as well. We're still in critical care, which limits his calls, visits, etc. Please do keep the prayers, cards and messages coming. This road to recovery will be a marathon, not a sprint; I appreciate that so many of you stand at the ready to help out. Thanks everyone for everything!

crusse - I saw this on fb too but I couldnt make out what was the initial problem nor wanted to ask. What started all this? why surgery?

I am so thankful that Ash is in a room. Goodbye Medical Critical Care unit, and thanks for all the great care by a fabulous staff. The healing that has occurred is absolutely miraculous. Still more is needed.

He's still not really up to visitors or calls yet. He's much, much better, but still has a long way to go. Please keep praying for healing, wisdom, and strength.

Cards can be sent to

I believe it all stems from diabetes, but I'm not positive. I ran it by my mom last night (my aunt is diabetic) and she said it sounds like diabetes caused it.

I'm happy to report that Ash has been able to visit with his children! I hope to be able to visit him sometime soon.
Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, and well wishes!

Crusse I was literally just thinking about him! That was weird.

So happy to hear this news!!! I can't imagine what that means to his wife, for their kids to get to see him!
