Praying Before Game WILL NOT BE STOPPED AT UT (merged)

no I live in the united states of america!!! and anyone who wants to take my rights or change this country needs to pack up and get out!!! in God we trust!!!!

I don't see anyone here trying to take your rights away.

I am an an atheist.

As for what caused the big bang I don't know. Perhaps it is not knowable and perhaps it is. But just because we don't have an answer doesn't mean the it must be a magic god...any more than the sun was driven across the sky by the sun god helios or that poseidon caused earthquakes because they didn't have a better answer. Either way you have a much bigger problem..who created god?

You ask me to prove god doesn't exist. I am not the one making an extraordinary claim violating every natural law we have. The onus is on your side...not mine. I can say that there is nothing that is inconsistent with their not being a god.

But I am not making any extraordinary claim either. I am not telling you that you must believe in God or you are crazy. Yet, your connotations towards me is that I am crazy for believing in what I do. If there is a problem in the last 70 years*, then it is the pussification of this country where if something offends you, then you must stand up as the minority and slay what you consider an injustice. You're here attempting to belittle what I choose to believe in... over what, a large group of people wanting to pray before a football game to ask for world peace, feed the hungry and that your football team wins? What is the harm in that? We are born with free will. If your wife/husband/children want to pray then they should be able to. If you don't want to, then drink a beer or coke and wait the 30 seconds while everyone else does.

So you think we were wrong to end a form of apartheid that existed in the south? Couldn't you have said the same thing then?

And so you'll know, you're sharing this country partner. And no one is taking any right away from you. There is no right to public prayer that I am aware of.

yup...now that could be a result of the more educated you are the more likely you are to be an atheist and also true the more educated you are the less likely you are to be in prison in the first place...
Makes sense....Also the difference in population of each could weigh in as well right?

You wouldn't consider that a part of Freedom of Speech? Nowhere does it say the speech has to be spoken, thus essentially the government is taking away our right of speech to Who of What we believe in, which violates the 1st amendment.

I don't have to wait the 30 seconds...it should be incumbent upon you if you want to pray then you get up and go somewhere or close your eyes and do it.

In a public forum and a public institution this ain't gonna fly. Long overdue and the courts will confirm. The reason it has gone on so long is a deference to religion that in my opinion needs to end.

I don't judge people over religion bc it doesn't make a person who they are. If it did, then there would barely be a crime rate in America bc it's dominantly Christian here. This is why religion shouldn't be so important on judgement of human beings.

Assumptions, and not necessarily true. Please provide a source.

I'm failing to see the link between removing prayer from a football game to letting "evil" win. Do you think by removing the prayer that all the sudden Neyland will be used for bloody pagan rituals?

Way to address all my points.
