Predicting AP Top 5 as of Monday 2/10

This is a tough poll to predict. Bama and Auburn will be 1 and 2, but I have no idea in what order. Tennessee and Florida will be 3 and 4, and I also have no idea in what order. I would not be surprised to see Florida pass us.

I think Duke will only drop to 5, due to their record and strength of schedule still being better than Houston’s.

So, basically:

1. and 2. Bama/Barn
3. and 4. UT/Florida
5. Duke

That’s not much of a prediction, I know, but this one could go any number of ways.

AP voters tend to go with what you've done lately. You could argue that Auburn has an overall better resume with the 12 quad 1 wins vs 7 for bama (TN has 8) but its easy to see the voters will be split on this. Same for TN vs FL. TN has a better overall resume but a very impressive win by FL at Aub. I think you described it well. Because Aub's loss was at home, my guess:
1. Bama
2. Barn
3. Good guys
4. Lizards
5. Dook

It will be interesting to see how the AP shakes out Monday morning. IMO, you’re spot on.

Bama should be #1, imo, as they are rolling and beat a good Arkansas team on the road.

Auburn got curb-stomped @ home, but they had answered the bell up to then against a brutal schedule. It’s one game but they are a too 2-3 team.

Duke- is a generational talent and a joy to watch unless he’s playing against your team. He scored 14 points in the final four min of last night’s game. The loss @ Clemson isn’t bad, imo, so they should be in top three.

TN had two impressive wins vs FL and Mizz before going on the road to whip Oklahoma. The fist half was their best play all yr, but they had a letdown after the break. TN had too many turnovers, but the game was never in doubt. So, our Vols will land @ #4.

FL rebounded and whipped Auburn on the road - impressive win. But I don’t see them leap-frogging TN with their recent loss to the Vols.

I could see Duke at #2 and Barn @ #3 - toss up.

Go Vols! Beat KY!

Not that it matters at all at this point......but....

1. Bama
2. VOLS
3. Auburn
4-5 Duke/Florida......could go either way on these 2.

Our 2 wins this week PLUS a recent win over UF with 2 starters out will resonate with voters I WOULD THINK (no guarantees). Really doesn't matter.....this will probably change weekley with the SEC Murderer's Row still to come for all SEC teams. Duke has a MUCH easier path to a #1 seed than ANYBODY in the SEC at this point. If we beat UK and Vandy this week we REALLY solidify our chances for a #1 seed

Tennessee can beat them without shooting 60%. Alabama hasn't had that tough of a SEC schedule. I think Vols physicality will be shocking to them.
I don't think we can shoot a lower percentage and beat Bama if we have 19 turnovers like we did yesterday. Our offensive efficiency is higher than expected given our shooting because we're good on the offensive glass (ranked 10th on Bart Torvik). 19 empty possessions would be an issue. Fortunately Bama typically doesn't turn people over (ranked 344th). This is not their defensive style.

Florida will be ahead of Tennessee. On a neutral court, Vegas would favor UF.
I hate it but I can't see it differently. TN May squeeze into the 3rd spot, but Auburn will take that. Duke to 5.
Alabama
FL/Auburn
Auburn/FL/TN
Auburn/FL/TN/Duke
Houston/Duke/TN

Life is not fair. TN always gets the short end of the stick. Voters are Fickle.
We need to beat AL Winning out the regular season could mean a 1 seed and overall 1 seed.
I never trust the Committee.
The SEC tournament will play into the seeding this year as opposed to years past.
A 1 seed in the West or a 2 seed in the east does make a difference.
