They could legitimately get relegated if they don’t sort the defense out. 16 goals conceded in 5 matches. Their attack isn’t good enough to overcome that.
They didn’t have the cash to do much anything at all really during the transfer window. Sounds like he has to work with what he has. Not sure how that is going to work out for them.

Imagine if they didn’t sell their best players?
Very true. Hard to turn down a 45 mil profit though for someone like Cucrella. But if Chelsea are willing to pay that much then it’s hard for smaller clubs to say no.

Selling Fofana to Chelsea made sense, because the money was just outrageous. Although, it was obvious a month ago that his time at Leicester was over. Had they come to terms a few weeks ago, they could have had some money to get replacements in.

I can’t get my head around why they sold Schmeichel. They got almost nothing for him, and surely he is better than the new keeper they’ve brought in.

Arsenal wearing black while United wearing red/white is throwing me off.

Should have sold us Fofana earlier instead of dicking around and losing time to use that money on more signings. Same with Madison, should have sold him too.

This Arsenal/United game should be 1-1. I think the foul that disallowed the goal was soft for an overturn.

Agreed. While I have begged for VAR in the past for concacaf and such, it’s actually impacting some of these games negatively so far this season in the PL in my opinion.

It’s not impacting SOME games, it’s impacting most games. It slows everything down, flat out ruins the in-stadium experience at times, and still doesn’t manage to hand down decisions that are consistently correct. Instead of debating at halftime whether the refs got this or that call correct, instead the studio is just debating whether VAR this or that call correct.

This weekend alone there have been sketchy VAR decisions in the Everton/Liverpool, Chelsea/West Ham, Brighton/Leicester and Man U/Arsenal games.

It definitely has been more negative than positive so far this season.

I never noticed this before.

‘The coaches box for ten hag goes past the midfield line. Is that unique to Old Trafford, or do all clubs have it like that?

This led me down a weird Google Maps rabbit hole. The simple answer seems to be that they’re directly in front of each team’s bench, which is typically directly on either side of the tunnel. Almost all the newer stadiums seem to have the tunnel centered exactly on the halfway line, but that’s not always the case with older stadiums.

A couple of other examples…

Craven Cottage, which is not only off center, but Fulham’s technical area is about 30% bigger than the visitor’s for some reason.

Nice find, good stuff. Thanks

Don’t despair Arsenal fans, you’ve got Everton coming to town next weekend. Aside from Anfield, I don’t think there’s a place we consistently play worse at than The Emirates.

For a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford and Arsenal’s first loss, I’m surprisingly not as disappointed as I should be. Arteta has this team playing wonderful football. Besides the first 10 minutes the gunners controlled the tempo and were the much better side if not for a few mistakes. United’s gonna get better as the season goes on and will be fighting for top 4.

It was a good physical match (there was even a belly to back suplex on Jesus at one point). Both sides will learn from it and grow.
