Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Rashford is streaky as heck. Sancho is a headcase. Antony is crap and gives the ball away far more than he makes a good move (plus he is so dominant left foot he is super easy to mark). Eriksen, Varane and Casemiro are all good quality bench "leaders" who give depth but also make your actual starters in that position better, because they have done it at the highest level (which has now passed them by). They are not starters. Bruno spends too much time complaining about everything, while at the same time being responsible for 75% of giveaways, but he is probably the only one other than Rashford capable of moments of elite skill. The rest of the midfield is mediocre (or young and underdeveloped like Hannibal, Garnacho and Pellistri). Martinez is too short and Wan-Bissaka, while good on defense, is not good going forward. Shaw is always injured and the rest of the defense is just bad. Onana is truly bad.
Ten Haag is a nothing manager. There is no identifyable style of play
I think Ten Haag is a decent manager and I generally have enjoyed watching his teams play in the past. I wish him luck.

Not sure how this wasn’t at least a yellow today. Szoboszlai was in on goal and about to pull the trigger. PK given, but no card.

There we go, Liverpool folk never let you down. Got PK. Still whinging. Same foul anywhere else in the field of play isn’t a yellow. DOGSO would not apply.

So this is just a yellow but Gusto and whoever it was for Liverpool a couple weeks ago were red? PL refs are 🚮

It was an absolute second yellow and he should've been sent off. My boys and I screamed "what is he doing" when we saw the slide tackle start. We were shocked he remained on the pitch. While I dislike losing, I feel it was poetic justice for Arsenal to win. Had the game ended in a draw or loss for the Gunners, I would've felt cheapened by the missed call in the first half. As a City fan, it is clear Rodri is our most important player now. We have no replacement for him. Without him, we are solid but not great in the midfield. With him we have the best midfield in the Prem. With him and DeBruyne we have the best midfield in the world. I am worried that Brighton will give us our third consecutive defeat. After that, it wouldn't' surprise me to only drop points in three games from there.

Apologies for rustling your jimmies.

From ESPN: "For Groß to avoid a red card on double jeopardy he would need to be making a genuine challenge, but the shirt pull rules that out. So that brings a red card for denying an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO) into play."

Was the best player in the EPL for a spell. Wizard with the ball at his feet.

I still don't understand why it didn't work out for him in Madrid. Grass isn't always greener I suppose...
Injuries were a big part of it. That’s also probably on him though because his training, or lack there of, is pretty widely known. Didn’t work out and take care of his body as much as he should have and especially didn’t eat like he should have. He just had insane talent that made him undroppable regardless of all that.

Yikes. Tonali apparently admitted to the investigators that he did bet on AC Milan games. He said it was only in games he wasn’t playing, but still not good at all. He’s going to get a long ban. Newcastle just paid 70M for him.

When Arsenal started singing North London Forever recently, I felt like it was a cheesy copy of what some other clubs sing before their games. But it’s really grown on me. And now it has a uniqueness all on it’s own.

After the Man City match, it gave me chills, and you notice nobody in the whole stadium is trying to leave, they all stayed and celebrated.

Which are some of the best songs at other clubs?
