I can only speak from my experience the other day, but it was much more this than anything resembling Green Street Hooligans. Only place I’ve ever been where people openly ignored the “no drinking in the seats” rule, smoked in the stands, etc. Also, one group of four who were OBVIOUSLY not regular supporters showed up about ten minutes after kickoff, tried to get a a couple guys who were sitting in their seats to move, to which the response was, “**** off day trippers, go sit somewhere else.” Not any kind of actual violence though.Even still today?
I know it was out of control over there in the 70s/80s, but has it not been dialed back to where "hardcore supporters" are more of just a rough and tumble, very uncouth crowd rather than a group of guys trying to beat the s**t out of people?
Not just the intensity of the crowd, but I would encourage anyone who thinks it’s just a bunch of dainty guys running around out there to sit close to the action at a top-level match. Game is MUCH more physical in person than it looks on TV.Soccer is similar to hockey. You need to see it live, feel the passion and noise from the fans, see the skill with your own two eyes, then you will get it.
I think this is more of an overall picture argument by them which includes international. Seems like a lot of cups are expanding, international fixtures went from friendlies to competitive nation league games in the summers, etc. If you are a top player that plays for a top club and you play for your nation than it just feels like the amount of games you play is going up and up each year.Doesn’t mention who they’re threatening to sue. If it’s anyone other than their managers, their anger is misplaced. Rotate. Your. ****ing. Squad.
The players and coaches are on the same side here. They both consistently talk about the amount of games played and how it only benefits the leagues and the owners.Doesn’t mention who they’re threatening to sue. If you did 2 bets that Chelsea wins 1st half and loses 2nd half, you would have just made some $$. I might have to start doing this. Nice way to win money on my own teams form without betting for them to loseChelsea stat that just doesn’t feel real given how bad the season has been:
Chelsea is the only team in the PL that hasn’t trailed at halftime this season.
Too bad the stat is meaningless because they always fall apart in the 2nd half. If you like to bet though.. may be a good idea to start looking at HT scoreline bets.
There’s no reason for every club to run out their (mostly) first team in every game. This is supposedly why teams have academies. Give those guys a run out, prioritize competitions. The players and coaches are on the same side here. The point about more and more international games creeping onto the calendar is valid, and that also probably extends to the potential of expanding the CL. However, the clubs are playing fewer games than ever domestically. FA Cup replays have all but been done away with once PL teams get involved, League Cup semifinals are moving to a single game next year as opposed to two legs.
Yeah, they did that.Pretty cool if real.
