You know, I told myself just the other day when Saban retired and Carroll was moved on that it is always a surprise for some reason when these guys step down, even though it shouldn't be. Especially for Saban and Carroll; they're into their 70s at this point, have won everything there is to win, and have been doing a job that would exhaust people half their age. I always suspected that the specific moment Saban retired would catch people off guard, but ultimately it would not be surprising at all.Sounds like burn out. It was a surprise bc there were rumors of him signing a new contract.
Not sure I could manage a club in PL with the way refs are taking over.
Burnout. He made a whole vid with the LFC social media team detailing his decision. Why is Klopp leaving? Just burned out? This is a huge surprise, right?

I don't view it as a big surprise overall, there were discussions that he was going to leave before his contract was extended this last time.
Most suprising part, I believe, is that the annoucement came mid-season. Klopp's explanation was that he didn't believe it wouldn't leak to the media, so he wanted to get ahead of it.
As far as his future, I would definitely not be surprised to see him take a year off and then go for the German national team job or the Bayern Munich job. I know both are filled, but Klopp is a better manager than Tuchel or Nagelsmann IMO.
