President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

"The freeze refers to several Trump executive orders as the authority -- Protecting the American People Against Invasion (Jan. 20, 2025), Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid (Jan. 20, 2025), Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements (Jan. 20, 2025), Unleashing American Energy (Jan. 20, 2025), Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing (Jan. 20, 2025), Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government (Jan. 20, 2025), and Enforcing the Hyde Amendment (Jan. 24, 2025). It immediately ends funding for Green New Deal, NGO support (see JD Vance Suggests Mammon, Not God, May Explain the Stance of US Catholic Bishops on the Migrant Invasion), diversity, and foreign aid programs."
To implement these orders, each agency must complete a comprehensive analysis of all of their Federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that maybe implicated by any of the President’s executive orders. In the interim, to the extent permissible under applicable law, Federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal."

The memo does not affect Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, student loans and grants, or social safety net payments to individuals, though some leftist politicians will undoubtedly make that claim.

The 90-day hold is well within the letter of the Impoundment Control Act and is sure to inconvenience some grantees. What it does is prevent the federal government from directly funding activities, like abortion and alien smuggling, that are against the stated policy of the administration. "

Illegal immigration = net negative on society.

Increased hospital costs. Strain on school systems. Infrastructure overused. Legal immigrants and citizens are shouldering this burden through taxes and subsidizing costs in hospitals- and largely in lower to lower-middle class, inner-city neighborhoods.

I never want to hear someone simultaneously tell me how they care about black and inner-city communities while at the same time saddling them with pressures they can hardly afford.

For many of those panicking, it is likely you're outside the bubble, and confusion rests on your incompetent leadership and not the US government order requiring these reviews.

This does directly affect the voter. If you reference the very small list of Democrat senators that voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act, you will see BOTH Democrat senators from Georgia, the place where she was brutally murdered, voted in favor of the Bill. Because people felt like that event directly affected them, their children, and neighborhood. And they let their Senators hear about it.
I think you’re using a different meaning of “directly” than the common English one that I was relying on.

You watched any of these board meetings in Chicago? The black community sounds just like the rural white community. Not enough resources as it is. And the government wants to flood the place with more and more people? They are saying the same things.

But when Bubba from Carter county says it, it’s racist.

When Tyrone from Chicago says it, it’s understandable and brave.

WATCH—‘More Voices, Not Less’: Breitbart News Gets One of the First Questions at Trump White House Briefing

Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle had the opportunity to ask one of the first questions at the first White House press briefing of the new administration, as the Trump White House made it clear that it is restoring press passes to journalists revoked during the previous administration and opening up the briefing room to new media voices.

“In light of these announcements, our first questions for today’s briefing will go to these new media members whose outlets, despite being some of the most viewed news websites in the country, have not been given seats in this room,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, giving one of the first questions to Breitbart News.

“In doing so, number one, we will ensure that outlets like yours, Axios and Breitbart, which are widely respected and viewed outlets, have an actual seat in this room every day,” Leavitt added, encouraging anyone else in the country producing legitimate news content — whether as a podcaster, blogger, or more — to apply for press credentials.

Breitbart is not "widely respected." Not by a long shot.

State Dept pulls millions in funding for ‘condoms in Gaza,’ as Trump admin looks to trim spending

What the he//. $50,000,000 in rubbers, Damn that's alot of screwing. This is what the looney left was using our tax dollars for.

Maybe we can go back to a time without false cause fallacies. Imagine a road is going in right by your house...and the city decides YOUR house needs to go. Wouldn't you want to know that this is really the best place vs them getting your house so they don't mess up their property or values?

But to play your game...This was sometimes intentionally done to black communities out of a "better there than the white ones" idea.
I didn’t realize there were “black only” communities? If you’d replace “black” with “poorer” then I would buy this premise. Also, it bc would reduce the cost of the project if the property purchased was of lower value

Somewhat off topic but not entirely. You hear about kids not being able to read up to level but they don’t specify which ones can’t even speak English. My daughter got a new student today and they can’t speak a lick of English but luckily there’s other kids in her class that can help translate who couldn’t speak it when they started. I don’t blame the kids but this puts an unnecessary burden on everyone else and their kids.

What else do you think might have been paused that will move the needle?
Many states reported issues accessing funds under the Medicaid low-income health insurance program, for example, which was never supposed to be affected by the White House spending halt. Preschool centers struggled to obtain reimbursements under the federal program known as Head Start, putting some child-care services at risk.

A web portal that housing providers use to draw down money for government voucher and rental assistance funds stopped working Tuesday, though the cause was not immediately clear. And federal health and education officials similarly said they had to halt work amid the mixed messages from the White House. That delayed money for some after-school programs, charter schools and the Special Olympics, a spokesperson for the Education Department confirmed.

Stuff like this.

They’ve had similar issues with getting federal workers back in the office and with the hiring freeze where they’ve had to come back and clarify the orders because they weren’t clear or had unintended consequences.

But, if it’s real and doesn’t get worked out quickly, this stuff will cause some backlash.

I am actually o.k. with this spending.

That $50 million would have been a drop in the bucket compared to the next generation's war over there (which we all know we will fund.)

No soldiers = no war. Send in the prophylactics!!!
