Somewhat off topic but not entirely. You hear about kids not being able to read up to level but they don’t specify which ones can’t even speak English. My daughter got a new student today and they can’t speak a lick of English but luckily there’s other kids in her class that can help translate who couldn’t speak it when they started. I don’t blame the kids but this puts an unnecessary burden on everyone else and their kids.

They want to claim to be on the side of teachers, want more resources for teachers, on and on, then take actions that cripple the ability for teachers to perform. Resources would be fine without the extra strain.
