President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

BMI is a terrible metric. I have a bigger frame (insert big-boned joke here) and am 6'-1". I could certainly stand to lose weight but at my height my healthy range is between 140lbs lol and 180lbs. At 180lbs. with my frame I would be very skinny, and 140lbs I would be deathly looking. It's very simplistic and doesn't take into account muscle mass as well.
I'm 5'8" and my "ideal" weight per BMI is like 145 lbs. I looked like a twig at 170. It doesn't factor in build and muscle mass at all- it's kind of an embarrassment anyone still uses it.

I don't think there's many happy East Tennesseans re: lakes, especially Tellico.

Conflating dams and placement of the interstate isn't right, however.

it also ignores the 99% of the interstate that isn't in a city. plenty of "white" towns and neighborhoods were split up and interrupted as well. how many farmers lost parts of their farm. not just to the physical interstate, but also being divided from the other "half".
I am sure there were some racial angles to some of the placements of roads and whatnot. My bigger point is the placements had more to do with long-range planning of the area and the economic status of those being displaced.

My heart goes out to those displaced by gov't projects. The past two generations of my family were displaced twice. Both by TVA - Norris and then Bull Run Steam Plant. If the proposed Orange Route around Knoxville had not been postponed/canceled, we'd be looking at a 3rd displacement.

Emanate Domain sucks! Especially when it's for a Walmart or other business.

I have no idea how else you would do it at scale. Replace quota with goal. You have to have capacity through the pipeline i.e. planning, logistics, construction, contracts, etc. If the station A is grabbing X amount but station E only has capacity Y amount, you have a problem. This is where you get into local jurisdictions doing catch and release i.e. no jail capacity.

I would think over time the goal should be on the range of 10,000+ a day, if not higher. If you can't catch and process 1000-2000 a day, than what? Learn, change, modify, reevaluate quickly.... keep moving forward i.e. getting better but keep moving doing it.

Let's be honest, we probably have what 30-50 million illegals here? There shouldn't shortage of finding them anytime soon to where a quota or anything else would really matter. Now, if Trump said, I want you to find 1800 murders everyday, well, that would be a common sense problem.

How do you think Bukele saved El Salvador? When your nation has been invaded by millions of foreigners It's not the time for weakness
I don't care if they arrest/deport 2 million illegals a day for the next 4 years.

but setting any quota is going to necessitate grabbing someone just for the sake of grabbing them, instead of actually focusing on the job.

This is part of the reason I was against this from the start, and will likely stay against it for the run of it. a police state is very difficult to break down. I guess you forgot the fallout of the last time the government responded to extreme events. we still have TSA from 9/11, and a dozen new, at the time, agencies to "protect us", who are now just part of the political machine who seem to do everything BUT protect us.

giving them unrestricted power, and especially a quota requiring use of that unrestricted power is just asking for disaster.

Guy who promoted the mask as a way of beating a virus says what?

(P.S. the russia gate scam you were promoting out here was up there as well so much to choose from - TDS 🥥🥜🍩🌰🔩)

🤷‍♂️

I know a lot disagree but my thought is if you weren’t pounding the table about a confused, almost brain dead dementia patient running the country, then you can take a back seat and STFU. Any one of those people casting stones now are clowns.

I would hardly characterizing snatching and deporting illegals as some police state action.

If your measuring stick is there can be no collateral damage then it’s a near impossible assignment.

The clowniest clowns are the government employees bitching about having oversight. Imagine thinking it's "evil" to cut off leeching off of taxpayers.

I would, it requires police work. surveillance, boots on the ground, transportation, likely some sort of holding. possible chance of violence.

collateral from this is just as acceptable as collateral from anything else our government does. I don't trust any of our government, regardless of how I feel about the particular agency.

even you can admit there has to be a line on acceptability of collateral. a quota says to ignore that line, we need more bodies.

Sorry, rounding up non citizens and sending them home doesn’t qualify as a police state.

There is a reason why we have due process, and multiple areas to appeals depending on the situation. That doesn't mean mistakes are not made, living is dangerous for one's health.

When nations are invaded and go to war to remove the invaders there are quotas and goals to eliminate the foreign invaders. Were nations concerned about overreach when clearing their nation of German or Japanese military and civilian invaders in ww2? We imprisoned thousands of Japanese people in America during WW2 (after 3 Japanese immigrants in Hawaii immediately attempted to aid a crash landed Japanese pilot who had just attacked Pearl Harbor: Niihau incident - Wikipedia) Sometimes harsh action must be taken and you can't sit and moralize everything while your nation is under siege. Internment camps were a police state action taken during WW2 but it may have saved many American lives.

If they didn’t already have quite a substantial list of known illegals to work through and would just have to grab people off the streets as you say, I would agree with you that a quota is bad. Have you noticed ICE knew exactly where to go to make arrests and who they were grabbing and what their crimes are?
