Bro, what are you even talking about? The articles demonstrate that people get harassed by ICE simply for being brown. I see now you are holding me to a standard that you created. At no point did I say people get "rounded up" for being brown. You said that. I guess I needed to specifically stomp that out to make the point. It's still a situation where 4th amendment rights can be invoked, regardless of how these situations played out.

You distract from the point, miss the boat on the 4th amendment, claim AOC was saying something else, don't back it up, and glom onto this aside. The point is Homan is completely wrong about the 4th amendment and AOC has done nothing wrong, unless you can produce something that says otherwise.

Odd that you can’t get a chorus of amens for arguing that somebody should not be prosecuted for telling people how to protect their constitutional rights.

I was and still am skeptical about it all, but I haven't seen any cases of someone being rounded up because they are brown. That is just unsupported fear mongering.

The cops/ICE can arrest someone before a court rules on it. The court case typically comes after the arrest. No 4th issue there either.

My understanding was AOCs instructions weren't targeted because she was pointing out the 4th amendment. But because she was telling them how to hide and lie effectively. That is a completely different issue beyond the 4th. The 4th doesn't give you the right to lie to cops nor to avoid arrests.

Was talking to my Latino foreman today, who is a legal citizen. He brought up Trump (I don't go there) and said " Trump is not a bad person, I understand. About 80% of Latinos are hardworking guys...good guys. The others that are stealing or sell drugs need to go. " I mentioned the gang members from MS13 and Tren, he said " I hate those guys, makes (us) look bad...me and my people."
There havent been any round-ups etc here, and Charlotte has a huge Latino population due to construction always booming. Those who commit crimes after coming here will likely be deported. Regular hardworking guys that stay out of trouble will probably get to stay here. If they actually deported all the illegals, construction would come to an immediate stop. I never see white or black folks building apartments except in management like me. All the concrete guys, framers, MEPs, drywall, trim, cabinets, tile....you name it. All Amigos. Literally 100%. On every job. Been that way here for at least the 15 years I have been a Superintendent. Some of them are legal (or at least have papers) but the majority are not. I speak at least as much Spanish everyday at work as English. Its easier to make the guys understand that way. I don't think guys are gonna be deported unless they get in trouble with police for doing something stupid. Most of the illegals here have fake papers which they have used to get drivers license etc anyway. Apparently that is pretty easy to do in NC.
