Do you think eitherThat's not how it works. In some cases their is no alternative, how many American made shoes or socks can you find?
If chinese widgets sell for $ 10.00 each do you think American made widgets will sell for $6.00 ?Nope maybe $9.50
Simple math. Someone making $25,000/yr is putting 100% of their income toward basic needs. Some making $125,000/years has plenty of play money left over.
So increasing taxes/tariffs on the poor makes a difficult situation worse.
I’d go a step further.I always laugh at the "free market" goobs who refuse to realize we aren't in a free market at all. When another country is subsidizing their products through slavery and abuse, are we going to go to that level to even the field?
So many people don't drink wine, you live in a elitist world.Do you think either
A) everyone is going to stop drinking if they have to pay more for European wine and beer (which, BTW, has a relatively small market share in the US), or
B) people will drink the same amount, and those who care how much French wine costs (very few, or they wouldn't be drinking it already) will just switch to Cali/Oregon/ Washington/Argentina/Australia options?
If B, how exactly does that negatively affect you or other US consumers or producers?
You don't get it do you?My thoughts exactly.
Very blessed to make well over 125k as a household. “Plenty of play money”?? Nah bro! I’m searching GolfNow for Hot Deals, sitting in the nosebleeds when I visit Knoxville, and drinking George Dickel White Label by the Jug. I got kids!
I do get it. I grew up broke homey. Hot dogs and cheap cereal. Crackers and Kool-Aid.You don't get it do you?
Golfing on weekends, Drinking jugs of Dickel or going to football games on Saturdays are mot basics of life. Those are play things
Why are they only making $25,000/yr? Would they make more $$$ if there were more jobs? Would there be more jobs if we weren't off-shoring production of everything?Simple math. Someone making $25,000/yr is putting 100% of their income toward basic needs. Some making $125,000/years has plenty of play money left over.

The liquor store during early Covid was a really fun place to visit. I saw a yelling match, someone get thrown out, and more people without masks than anywhere other than my office.

You said “plenty of play money” for 125k earners. That’s not true. Not at all. I’m well well above that. We still gotta watch what we spend.
They really are!Now accepting enrollment for the Dink School of balling out on a budget. You can absolutely have tons of fun in that income bracket so long as you don't **** up and make crotch goblins with someone.
Kids are expensive.
They really are!
No regrets. I love my kids. But my oldest eats nonstop. Dudes got a tapeworm or something. He weighs nothing while eating all day. He puts away a dozen apples a weekend without trying. My youngest is still in daycare. Which is essentially ran by the mafia or something. We pay $300 a week for “protection”.
