When AAPL moves their sweatshops to Vietnam or the PI, the Chinese would feel the pain. THAT was the objective. The problem was that the American consumer had to feel the pinch first. It wouldn't be fatal, but it would sting. He was 100% right on that and the Chinese knew it.

The last I read was that the Chinese "scientists" were attempting to develop a covid strain capable of infecting humans and then reintroducing it to the bat population in caves. That is a major WTF? Trump couldn't even begin to address that for reasons we all well understand, and the Biden administration is clueless.

Fair question. The correct approach depends on what wrong we seek to correct and why we think it is wrong in the first place.

The big issue is that of Chinese ethics. Termination comes to mind as the only effective cure since nothing else has worked over the centuries. The Chinese have been duplicitous PsOS for centuries, and have never shown any inclination that they might change. Even during WW2 when their lives were at stake, we provided them weapons and assisted them militarily. When we needed their assistance (often to save their own) they simply hoarded the weapons and refused to show up and fight.

I am going by memory, but I believe JFK was doing a lot of prescription drugs due to his various illnesses. He dated the girlfriend of a mafia dude. He also dated a Communist Spy from East Germany. Both JFK and RFK were pounding Marilyn Monroe. There are people who still believe the Kennedy's were behind her death because they believed her to be mentally unstable and could go to the news media and tell a lot of things that would ruin their political careers. That is just the beginning. There is more.

He okayed the Bay of Pigs invasion. Then he went to the Vienna summit and got embarrassed by Khrushchev. That led to, among other things, the Cuban missile crisis. Then he presided over America’s descent into Vietnam. He was slow on civil rights and and let’s be kind and say that he lacked moral character. And remember all of this is him only being in office for less than three years. But hey he created the peace corps and was handsome, so he was great!
