President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

I know you are in an argument but are you really suggesting that no private business has implemented a mandate based on what the WH said is their policy? Put another way are you suggesting that no mandates from private business are driven by the WH policy?
Boom! Yes that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Of course you won't since it's not happening like you claim. If these govt mandated wholesale firings at private businesses were happening wouldn't we all know it? I mean, this is the worst act in US history but didn't make the evening news?
My company has pulled in the vaccination deadline from Jan 1 to Dec 8, which they stated means full vaccination by Dec 8 thus we should have our second shot by Nov 24. Non compliance with the policy results in termination. The grounds for company’s policy are explicitly stated to be the idiot in chiefs mandate.

Yes dismissals tied to this mandate will result. You are basically standing in the middle of the road staring at a car barreling down on you and saying “yeah but it hasn’t hit me yet”. 🤡

What I'm saying is there are no mandates in place for private business to fire all unvaccinated. If they're doing based on what they think may be coming then that's a choice. If they're doing it to retain govt contacts then that is a choice as well

FYI - this executive order is separate from the 100 employee or more OSHA mandate coming down the pike.

This is the "contractors" EO - if you do biz with the Feds you are subject to it. Issued Sept 9th. Basically any company that takes Fed money for services (eg. Medicare, Medicaid, supplier, etc) is subject to it.

Correct. There are two separate EOs from the idiot in chief. One is mandated directly from the Executive branch as a condition of doing business with the government. The other is via OSHA and impacts ALL private businesses over 100 people.

What mandate? Are these to maintain govt contacts as bham listed? If not then you're company is making a choice and hiding behind the WH

Has anyone been fired from a private business due to the govt mandate that they do so? I don't care what a private business chooses to do on its own
Southwest CEO stated on national tv that their vaccine mandate followed the federal mandated rules. There have already been firings across the country due to vaccine mandate from the president or be fined. Stop being daft and claiming that this isn't happening. If you're in love with Biden and his vaccine mandate, just say so.

So basically any hospital that serves Medicare/Medicaid is just making a private business choice?

Many HC operations are the only game in town and their charter requires them to serve these populations and the contractor mandate can't really be avoided by them.

So it's still federal imo.

This is a good thing for those who think govt is too big anyways right?

Yes it is the contractor mandate. I know exactly what my company is doing and why they said they are doing it. You are wholesale wrong in your assertions. We are impacted by the contractor mandate with a deadline of Dec 8. The rest of the country joins the party once the OSHA rules up for review have passed review and are put in force by OSHA

I agree with you about slavery so, which president will be more hated than Biden because of slavery?

Since Lincoln was the 16th president, there are so many candidates ... probably hard for PJ to pick just one. It all goes away, though, if you have the common sense to recognize times were different, standards of conduct were different, expectations were different, and you are making a huge blunder if you try to evaluate any of those things by what we believe today. One big change that nobody even seems to mention has to do with automation that largely replaced human labor in the fields. Just imagine, with modern equipment the Egyptians wouldn't have needed slave labor to build pyramids. I'd bet that where tribalism exists that slavery will always exist, but you don't hear all the current apologists discuss that - Boco Haram doesn't get much play time there unless they are up in arms about something other than what happened in the US well over a century ago.

I've stated my position on any mandates many times. You're simply choosing to ignore it or can't read. I'm torn on which it actually is

huh?

It applies to virtually every HC facility in the country - comply with the mandate or people don't get treatment.

It applies to any public school.

It applies to any company that supplies a military base even with products as mundane as toilet paper or soft drinks.

And to the bigger point - yes these companies are adopting the mandate to stay in business and it will result in loss of jobs.

Is there a choice to serve those segments or not? I don't know enough about their business to say. I view hc a bit different anyways just because of all the other mandates, subsidies, etc they work under.

Eventually someone will go against this and win. Just needs to happen soon

It applies to the janitor services cleaning the federal buildings.

It applies to the office supply contractors filling federal office supply orders.

It applies to the cafeteria contractors staffing cafeterias federal buildings

Etc etc etc…

No. There isn’t a choice when 80+% of your revenue comes from government contracts. And it’s stupid as hell to try and dance like there is.

I'll be unpopular and just say good to your last sentence. You can't be in favor of massive govt overhaul and reduction but not want any positions eliminated. Maybe this will actually lead to movement away from govt

Maybe it was a business decision to rely so heavily on one segment and believe the tax dollars would continue to flow

Generally they are licensed to serve a geographic area and they can't refuse based on payer. In areas with only one hospital (not uncommon) the mandate represents the choice of being fined, operating with reduced staff (during what the WH continues to call a health emergency) or say we'll just choose to leave this business then all the jobs are gone until another provider comes along.

Any way you slice it the mandate is a causal factor in people being fired and when it goes to all companies over 100 it will just expand

Good. Shut them down then
