I keep thinking that one day people will actually realize that energy cost is the mother of all overhead. I've thought it so long and been disappointed for so long that it still isn't recognized, that I'd bet it will never be recognized as such. Since a big subset of people can't even figure out they pay taxes for business when they buy products, there's just not much hope for reality. If you could even get people to understand that energy cost is to an economy what friction and resistance are to mechanical and electrical systems ...

I noticed this in my 20's. It's not really that complex. Normally recessions and high energy prices go together like peas and carrots. I am starting to convert some of my stocks into cash in anticipation of the upcoming one.

I wonder if during past periods of rising energy costs if we ever saw rising wages simultaneously. The wages are for labor, which essentially is human energy. So every fact of energy is rising at this point.
