This is the logical approach. If you don't agree with America's alliance with NATO, you should want America out rather than not wanting others in.
That's a good point. Why are we in if we don't want to have an alliance with all? Besides money, what makes the US more valuable?

If they join NATO and engage in war, so do we. That's why many oppose their inclusion.
But again, why are we so limiting on who to join in war? Seems like we could figure this out if the time came instead of locking ourselves in ahead of time.

Yeah, that's the argument I am making. Limiting NATO membership allows us to "figure this out if the time came".

They’re much safer from attack in NATO.

Do you really think the US would sit out a war between Russia and the EU? Of course not. This reduces the likelihood of that war.
Or it's one more possible weak spot that could be used to bring NATO into a war
