Props to Butch

Give fans something that's worthy of being positive and you will get rid of the miserable and negative posts.

It's coaches and university administrators that lead the program, not fans. Fans just follow the program and are a reflection of how the program is doing.

Or better yet, have some patience instead of b!tching just to b!tch. You are one of the most sensitive posters who complains about everything even over on the basketball board before you have all the facts. This place and this fanbase wouldn't look so damn ridiculous if they could screen the 12 year old sensitive school girl posts who freak out over everything under the sun.

Backhanded if I've ever read anything that was.... and I have. I guess this is a big step for you? But help me with some logic here, would you please? So, TKJr, Hurd, Creamer, Wharton and Coleman won't be on the the team this year/in the fall correct? And you're giving props to Butch cause he landed them, right? So, why in the hell does none of this matter if UT's team, which doesn't include these players yet, doesn't win 7 games this year? That's highly illogical IMHO.

But at least you actually wrote well done butch so maybe we're making some progress here.

See post 19. I am not trying to be backhanded at all. The thread is about an extreme negaVol --me--ever so slightly buying into Butch.

I meant post 30. About the scattering roaches.

And those miserable opinions do have some bearing on what people think of the university. Is it the deciding factor? No, but it sure as hell doesn't help.

Agreed. Sedrick Palmer running back from Alabama said he read all 7 pages of his volnation thread on twitter this morning. Finished with #haters. Now, most of his thread is positive, but he clearly saw something he didn't like. Could it matter? Maybe. Who knows, but we should all keep that in mind that some recruits, and their patents do get on here. Just sayin.

Lol - says the one who is freaking out like a school girl over negative posts.

BTW - i'm just messing with you. It's ok, I can assure you negative posts are on every message board across America.

When CBJ introduces his young family to a recruit...or when he brings his wife and kids around the players at certain events, he is showing a different side of himself to them. He is allowing them to see that he can be tough but loving at the same time. It's more than just picnics and catch. It's a psychological impression and a tangible example of the atmosphere that he wants to create on the team. Brilliant.

Sounds a lot like another coach we had a few years back that was/is a pretty good family man.....what was his name now.....oh yeah, Phil something.

Personally, I would never want a recruit who bases their decision on message board content. Shows a lack of good judgement imo.

I have to say, Butch is looking pretty good this week. Let's hope this is the beginning of something great.

Hey, we all got some of that in us. I know I get that way - negative that is - every game day at some point(s). But, the stuff CBJ has done since Dec 7 has been gold. Doing everything the right way, including landing, so far, the 2 best players in the state.... IN FREAKIN MARCH!! The ink on the letter of intents from last years class isn't even dry and he already pulled the states top players for '14! Damn! Lets celebrate this great news and the Big Orange football program, not pull it down by only being a fan if they pull off a huge upset which ain't likely- scrap that straw man argument Western- it's not relevant at this point.

You say this with certainty, but the truth is that it is an unknown. I am not sure others would have embraced UT from former players through tradition in quite the same way Jones has. Ah how easy it is to forget: a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

The truth is Butch was not the first choice. Hart screwed up the process and looked like a clown. This statement is not intended to diminish what Butch as done recruiting. Butch is doing great to date.

No, I think you can look at my track record and yours to see about negative posts. I just laugh at the fools that post prematurely and end up looking like complete fools.

And yes, there are negative posts on every board because there are a lot of idiots in this world who have no damn clue what is going on and post out of emotion instead of actually sitting back and looking at things.

I do believe you are the one who looks like they are freaking out, b!tching and acting like a 12 year old sensitive school girl. Perhaps you would do well to follow your own advice. Just a thought.

I've been very bitter about his hire, but he is starting to do what Tennessee coaches are supposed to do: put together a monster class. It won't mean a thing if we can't win 7 games this fall, but I am willing to suspend disbelief for awhile. Dillon Bates, Dominique Booth, Josh Malone, come on down. Well done Butch Jones! GBO!

me too, keep it going butch

Nah, history proves otherwise. Remember acting like a 12 year old girl during the UT-Auburn hoops game before it was even over? That's what I'm talking about. Maybe you'll grow up one day kid.

Oh I won't deny being frustrated and disgusted with how they were playing at Auburn and venting my frustration.

However, you and most of the other sunshine pumpers, freak out and act like little school girls yourselves (just like you are doing in this thread by making it personal and starting the name calling) over anybody who doesn't always parrot the "feel good" "real fan" company line.

That's what I'm talking about. Maybe you'll grow up one day kid.

Show me one post where I've freaked out and jumped the gun like you have on multiple occasions. Please.

It's not about sunshine pumping. It's about sitting back and looking at things in a logical way. Something you and others have trouble with. I've criticized when the situation is warranted. However, I don't jump the gun and start a thread half cocked during a game or give up on a coach before he has even coached his first game (like many on here did when Jones was hired). Again, you let your emotions get to you kid and end up looking like a fool.

dont waste your time. knee jerk and bipolar is the future. If posters have to do eat crow threads, then they are running their mouths too much. Especially when you go from one extreme of whinyness to the other with a '14 commit in March changing the balance.

With all the postivie momentum at UT right now, I can't believe the Vols aren't recieving more attention from other sports sites on the net. Let us continue to improve and continue to fly under the radar.

Not gonna get into this. I just feel like the University of Tennessee deserves better. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

By better i'm assuming you mean a more proven higher profile head coach. I guess I can understand that. I was skeptical myself about the hire but I think after everything Tennessee has been through its kind of hard not to be skeptical. But, he seems to be putting things back in place and he is more accomplished than our last coach. His team is bringing back excitement into the program which is greatly needed and they are working hard at recruiting. I'm hoping for the best with this staff.

"Coach (Butch) Jones is a real genuine guy. I just love him. I met his family when I went down there and they are great. He feels that I fit in perfectly as a running back, and that I'm a game changer for the program. With the new staff, and where they are headed, it's the place for me. I'm going to do everything I can to help get the program going again,"
J hurd said this and I just love this he had his family meet the recruits that is just making such a family environment around the team that we havent had in years...

sounds like Mr. J. Hurd is gonna be a great Vol as a player & recruiter of other outstanding young men! Whatta great day, Big Orange Nation!

I'm not going to get full on fanatical about Butch until we win some games, but I'm about as damn excited as I can let myself be.

His plan to run this program based on family is paying off. Gotta love the credentials tag on JCarr:

CBJ was just what UT needed. Thanks Mr. Hart for seeing what a lot of fans couldn't see.

Give it a rest. Hart tried to hire Fisher, Gundy and Strong before even meeting with Jones. He got lucky.

For all you message board conspiracy theorists that believe negative message boards run good recruits off - what just happened after 4 years of negative message boards?

Hurd, TK2, Wharton, Thomas, and big names all over the recruiting board with UT on the short list. Might be time rethink your opinion.
