For all you message board conspiracy theorists that believe negative message boards run good recruits off - what just happened after 4 years of negative message boards?

Hurd, TK2, Wharton, Thomas, and big names all over the recruiting board with UT on the short list. Might be time rethink your opinion.

It appears that Jones has been able to rise about most of the negative posters. But if you don't think negative posts and attacking recruits, players and coaches adversely affect recruiting, go back and reread posts by MzTerry. However, I doubt that you and others believe parents of recruits. If you want to post negative inaccurate negative stuff, do it on some other team's board.

mid tn has been nothing but positive since Butch and crew set up shop here, beginning with meeting local boosters and former players that live here to ask for support, and having at minimum 2 recruiters focused on this area

I've been very bitter about his hire, but he is starting to do what Tennessee coaches are supposed to do: put together a monster class. It won't mean a thing if we can't win 7 games this fall, but I am willing to suspend disbelief for awhile. Dillon Bates, Dominique Booth, Josh Malone, come on down. Well done Butch Jones! GBO!

I don't want to diminish Butch's accomplishments to date but there are plenty of great hires that would have done the same. Good for Butch though on getting recruiting on the right path early on.

This quick that were available at the time? Granted, "great hires" is the key. I don't think Gruden does this because parents/recruits would see this as a stepping stone job.

Personally, I would never want a recruit who bases their decision on message board content. Shows a lack of good judgement imo.

Don't know about you, but when I was a high school senior, my judgemental skills weren't as finely honed as they obviously are now. :loco:

If you are seriously expecting a big win total this year before you are all in then save it and go be a front runner somewhere else. Rome wasn't built in a day and it will take time to get back but the Butcher is the right man for the job. Clueless but then again you are from western Kentucky.

Seriously. This season is a success, by comparison, if the defense manages to even show a pulse. Butch actually has a lot working against him in inheriting that catastrophe and trying to implement his offense.

I think the season will go relatively well if one of the QBs is up to the task from the word go. I'm not sure we can eek out a respectable record if we have to flounder around a bit in transition. None of which would be Butch's fault.
