Pruitt Should Apologize to Fans, the Team & Re-evaluate if He Still Wants to Be Coach

Good Lord, what a whiner! Did mom take away your Barbie again? It’s amazing how burger flippers have such grandiose illusions of their insight and capabilities. Why aren’t you making millions in the stock market?

Worst season in history, followed by a dumpster fire of upper management control. You imbasils are the reason we will never compete again. Keep hoping for Gruden and his all star team negavol.

Imbasils? Oh my. Best laugh I've had in a while.

The delay in firing Butch had zero bearing on this class. Regardless who we hired the earliest they could have started was after our last game.
the uncertainty around Butch absolutely hurt the class.
I'm not claiming the complete dysfunction of the admin and AD had no effect but it's not as if Pruitt and his assistants didn't have prior relationships with the majority of these guys. It's something they should have better overcame.
I fully expected such a highly touted recruiting staff to finish in the top 20.
75% of the elite prospects (4 and 5 stars) signed their nli within 2 weeks of him taking the job in Dec. Are you reeeeeeally being realistic?

I never had a good feeling about this class. Pruitt has a lot of work to do if he wants to change the UT image. Like it or not, we are a laughingstock from the top down. I thought he did ok considering the national perception of the program. Really hope he builds on this and works out well.

Like I said, Smarts best recruiting job was to get Michel and Chubb and their star LB to stay one more year, that tells me he has the ability to keep players on his roster, plus he understands intimately how Bama keeps all those 4 and 5 star players on the roster and sells them on the big picture, something that he has brought to GA. I cant stand GA and it sucks that they are rolling now and TN is back to square one in another damn rebuild...

Time will tell; we have to hope for the best, and personally I think Pruitt was a great choice - just no way to prove that yet. Smart and his potentially overloaded team reminds me of a movie line, "Think you used enough dynamite, there, Butch?" - might well blow up in his face.

Just about any coaching change will hurt a class.

Maybe my expectations of finishing in the top 20 were too high. And I'll admit that him staying at Bama through the playoffs chapped my ass tremendously but I thought we might get a benefit from it. I was wrong about that also.

Oh well, on to the season. I hope he is the man to turn this ship around, coach 'em up Jeremy!

I didn't like that he stayed and stated it many times in here. I just don't think he's being given a fair shake for this recruiting class

I like your use of "Butch" in your comment.......:good!:

Relationships are great, and some buy into the "vision" and even prior success these coaches had at other stops.

But you are also trying to convince GA kids to leave the state for your school coming off a 4-8 season when they are 1 play away from hanging a NC banner. Your trying to convince Cali kids to move across the country under similar circumstances. Or pull a FL Wr. that was previously committed to UF.

Now having said all of that, if you re stilling missing on more of these guys than not next year, after Pruitt has coached and recruited for a full cycle then you have an issue. At this point, not so much.

This recruit class is nosediving. Multiple misses already. “Sure things” flipping to other schools on NSD.

HUGE holes in the secondary and O-Line with little options to fill them. All while, Pruitt stayed at Alabama to coach in the playoffs—time that shouldve been spent working 100% on this recruit class and team.

Alabama benefits and at the same time sticks it to us twice: Pruitt helped them win another NC and it obviously negatively affected this years class and Pruitt’s ability to bring in talent.

Phil shares the blame in allowing him to coach an extra month at Alabama.

If you had seriously high expectations for this class then Ii hate to see the posts you’re going to make during the season. If you’re gonna make a post like this, at least have a larger sample to base it off of other than what you’ve got now. All things considered it was about what I expected

Which is part of the reason we struggled to close today.

It can be fixed, tho.

Any time I feel bad about where I am in life, I log into VolNation. Almost without fail there's a "Sky is falling!" thread with an OP who makes manic depressives seem like a sunnier bunch to hang around. It's the quickest pick-me-up I can find.

The sun is still coming up in the morning, the world is not ending, and the Pride of the Southland will still open the T for the team to run though this next season. Enjoy the game, expect great things, and complain loudly at the right channels if need be, but don't get your knickers in a bunch when the season hasn't even started yet.

After all, it's just a game. And it's about the kids on field, not us in the stands.
