Pruitt Should Apologize to Fans, the Team & Re-evaluate if He Still Wants to Be Coach

Georgia and Alabama are now accepting new fans, get on their band wagon.

**** THAT!!! How about YOU expect UT to compete!!!!!

Instead... most of our fans would rather bend over and let this Administration continue to **** us!!

The "leadership" on campus now makes me want to puke! They don't give a rats ass about winning. But we can damn sure have some fancy uni's and some goofy checkerboard stadium.

Good grief that's just dumb

If staying at AL didn't hurt recruiting, what did? There's a couple coaches that are doing better that had as little or less time than Pruitt.

Also, why should we give this guy the benefit of the doubt? We gave Dooley and Butch the 'ol "wait till next year" out and look how those turned out.

Same as you.

Being against or for his decision to stay is irrelevant to the idea of the time allocation.

Time was withdrawn or withled from UT. Proposing that has a net zero impact, is assinine.

I'm not the one making the assertion. You emphatically state that it hurt but can't provide anything that shows it actually did. Wonder why that is?

If I was a top notch I wouldn't come to Tennessee and put up with the stupidity of some of their fans. That's a fact.

This recruit class is nosediving. Multiple misses already. “Sure things” flipping to other schools on NSD.

HUGE holes in the secondary and O-Line with little options to fill them. All while, Pruitt stayed at Alabama to coach in the playoffs—time that shouldve been spent working 100% on this recruit class and team.

Alabama benefits and at the same time sticks it to us twice: Pruitt helped them win another NC and it obviously negatively affected this years class and Pruitt’s ability to bring in talent.

Phil shares the blame in allowing him to coach an extra month at Alabama.

And take that bum Barnes with him!!!

This is the lowest ranked TN recruiting class since 2008, Dooley closed better in less than 3 weeks after the Kiffin debacle than Pruitt has done with over 2 months........Not sure why people think that UT has captured lightening in a bottle with Pruitt, he is an unknown quantity at this time as a head coach and to think he will turn UT around like how Smart did with Georgia is silly.....He will need 3-5 years to be competitive in the East again and he will need much better recruiting classes...so far a lot of fans arent sold on him after UT's lackluster class today...not gonna beat our rivals with 2 and 3 star players and a sprinkling of 4 stars. Georgia has (8) 5 star players at this time and could end up with 10 (which would be the most ever by a team in a recruiting cycle) and (15) 4 stars. How is UT going to compete with that? There is no magic coaching that can transform UT's roster into a competitive team against the likes of Georgias and Alabamas talent......IF there is, please tell us because I would invest in that voodoo magic......

I'm not sure how you can compare Dooley's first recruiting class since most of the top guys were already there because of Kiffin.

I'm not bashing Pruitt and hindsight is always 20/20 but I wonder if he made a strategic mistake by going after so many high profile 5 star kids to the detriment of keeping some of the lower ranked kids that we had committed that wound up going elsewhere. With that being said, Pruitt and company will be judged based on next years class rather than this one. Too little time to really build relationships this year.

That depends a lot on whether the guys that BJ recruited could have added anything (other than cannon fodder on the practice field) to Pruitt's style of play. Perceived failure is always greater when you aim higher and don't fully achieve.

Butch,4-8,Bev, Currie, schiano, Fulmer, etc. Just pick a dumpster since they were all on fire at one point

who walked into a comparable situation? Who are these magicians?

You state exactly zero effect which is absurdly dumb.

Decisions move the meter one way or the other.

Seeing today's results, I am confident which way the meter was affected.

Well, that depends on whether GA can meld them into a 5* team or be just a team with a bunch of 5* individuals looking for place to showcase individual talent for the NFL.

Worst season in history, followed by a dumpster fire of upper management control. You imbasils are the reason we will never compete again. Keep hoping for Gruden and his all star team negavol.

Nobody walked into a situation like Pruitt did but that is still no excuse, you can't use last season's record or AD dysfunction as a reason kids that committed to Pruitt bailed on him.

All I see are excuses and giving the guy a pass he doesn't deserve.

I get what you're saying but some of those kids I am sure we would have loved to have like the DL out of Murfreesboro Riverdale that was a four star. He was a long time UT commit that decommitted in the last couple weeks. Just speculating and not bashing Pruitt.:good!:

Show some proof.

He already had a strong relationship with JJ.

Who did we get because he coaches one more game at Bama?

Who did we lose because of not being here during the dead period in which he nor any of his staff could initiate conversation with a recruit?

Just keep in mind, that no coach recruits well his first year. Saban's first class at bammer suxed also.

And for most of the NCAA playoffs, it was a recruiting quiet period, so I'm not sure what Pruitt could have accomplished anyway.

Having said that, would have liked to see him blow off the playoffs and come to Knoxville. We would have had the same issue with the Georgia DC though.

I think Kirby Smart is a better developer of talent than Richt, also he managed to convince Michel and Chubb to stay another year and that was probably his best recruiting job next to this year. I just dont see the complacency in Smart that Richt had.......hope I am wrong......at least TN has 5 star hearts....

Who committed to CJP that bailed?

Still a Top 25 class (or close to it) after all of that nonsense is not too shabby

I am sure thinking about leaving this group. It sure has some of the most stupid post of any group I have ever seen. Why would you even think this before the man has even coached one game. "If you can't say something good then don't say anything at all".
