Sorry these posts right here when you say nothing is on TV or radio and you never see anything on campus about Vol Club is what I'm responding to. Glad your dad sees us on ABC, hopefully one day he will choose to support the players and their NIL opportunities! Until then I'm glad he supports the University in other ways.
PSA: Support Spyre and The Volunteer Club
What do you think the people not donating that have the means to are doing PJ? You think they are helping our NIL efforts? I mean it’s common sense, if you aren’t helping at this point then you are hurting because you are causing us to be behind some rivals in fan revenue NIL support. It’s just...www.volnation.com

And I agree that Ole Miss having more members is frustrating and that is why I say those who aren't joining ours are hurting us because we are behind a school like Ole Miss and that's pretty pathetic with our larger fanbase.
Fans needs to stop fighting it and join so we don't take a backseat to anyone! GBO!
I've said multiple times it's all prefaced by only people who can afford it. I am not shaming people who can't afford $25 per month, I've been there before when I was younger. I'm sure there are plenty of those folks who would love to join if they could. Wish everyone who had the means felt the same way as them. You really need to stop saying this..... or at the very least EVERY time you say it mention "if you can afford it"
You have said quite a few things in this thread that would seriously p*@$ off a lot of people that could potentially become members.
I said I was glad he supports them in other ways, he is directly not choosing to support the players NIL opportunities, the statement isn't false.Poor choice of words yet again!
Dude is a 50 year season ticket holder and he doesn't support the players?
Do you have a background in marketing? If so, I hope you didn't get it at UT!
He’s just a fan.

Perhaps I am in the minority here, but I personally expect nothing in return for my donations. My only goal is to contribute to our NIL fund directly and encourage others to do the same, with the hope that we have the most robust and sustainable NIL collective in the country. All I want is to "win more games" by having the top talent on our roster. The tailgates, memorabilia and events are nice perks. Many members expect these perks in return. To that end, Eric and I, (and several others) also donate our time and labor to make sure all events leave a lasting impression. I personally want to see 10,000+ fans as individual members. This should equate to about $4 million a year towards the overall budget. $4 million a year won't cover the entire budget, but it will create a steady and predictable income stream for the collective that allows for sustainable retention, portal additions and HS recruits year after year. Let's face it, this is the new reality in the NCAA. Every year coaches will have to retain current players, fill gaps from the portal and attract the top HS talent. This requires a robust NIL collective to provide these opportunities. I don't expect everyone to share in my viewpoint and that is why we appreciate everyone's feedback on here. We want as many new members as possible!
Everything a fan does helps. Tennessee fund donations, season tickets, traveling to games, joining The Volunteer Club, watching the games on TV, buying stuff with a UT logon on it... Absolutely everything helps the program. With that said, there is a firewall that exists between what the AD / School generates and what the NIL collective generates. The AD / School cannot give Spyre any money. Spyre even has to pay the school just to be part of the Vol Network. It is literally up to fans (big donors, medium donors, businesses, corporations, TVC members, merchandise sells) to fund the NIL collective. That is all Eric is trying to say here. I don't expect everyone to participate in NIL for a multitude of legitimate reasons. With that said, we also cannot ignore the importance it now plays in player retention, portal recruiting and HS recruiting. Without it, we simply cannot bring in the talent require to match to top tier programs. I'll leave it at this. My hope is that everyone supports the collective any way they can. Go Vols!I said I was glad he supports them in other ways, he is directly not choosing to support the players NIL opportunities, the statement isn't false.
Sorry if you took it that way my Kingsport brother. Best wishes, no one thinks folks who have trouble joining financially are less of fans. Hope one day you can join as I can tell you are passionate about it! GBOI thought he was some sort of ambassador for them?
Seems to be more connected than just a fan.
I have considered joining but just haven't been able to afford it. Making me feel like less of fan because of that.... or saying I have no right to fuss about the team..... or me going to a game isn't supporting the athletes.....etc....... of the team I've followed for 40 years just REALLY p*&$*$ me off!

Hey man, I appreciate the feedback, I'm definitely not perfect and when I get fired up probably lose the softness in my messaging! GBO let's reel in some big uglies!I appreciate it! It just really hit me the wrong way earlier. It's not necessarily what you said but more the way you said it.
I'm sure it wasn't your intention but if that's they way I took it then I can guarantee some others took it that way as well.
Have a great day!
Very Well put and one day not to far away The schools will be paying these kids along with NIL. The Storm is brewing the train is rolling down hill with no way to stop. So one day going to games buying refreshments by the average fan will help in bringing in Top Talent. In CHRIST AloneEverything a fan does helps. Perhaps it will. The NCAA has a proposal on the table that will allow athletes to also be employees. However, congress also has to change anti-trust laws before it can be a reality. Even then, with Title IX, Unions, collective bargaining and other legal issues, what I expect the school to provide players will only be an evenly distributed base amounts for all players. To that end, what the NIL collective does will likely never change. Players expecting 7 figure payouts, will still have to work with the collective to achieve that.Very Well put and one day not to far away The schools will be paying these kids along with NIL. You are right about everyone will get paid but there will be different pay levels according to Sport and revenue brought in.Perhaps it will. This is spot-on. We definitely need our coaches/AD to be more publicly visible in what they say privately, which is that this is (unfortunately) the most important thing any fan can individually do to help our roster be as good as it possibly can be. It's very far from the perfect system.. I'd change so much about it if I could. The fact that ticket sales or Tennessee Fund donations can't also go to our football/basketball athletes is absurd. Really dumb.. but it's the game on the field and we need as many people as possible helping. It'll never be everyone and I totally get that, but if you can and care enough to monitor Volnation, I'd really encourage you to do so. Not for tailgates, or signed pictures, but because it's the most direct way to influence the game on the field for us. But if you can't or that doesn't resonate with you or you hate the system so much you don't want to help the product on the field, totally your call.Everything a fan does helps. Yes. I can see that being the case, but just like now, Football will likely be required to help fund the salaries of low revenue generating sports. Which means, football players will likely still not achieve their max potential without the NIL collective providing additional support. You are right about everyone will get paid but there will be different pay levels according to Sport and revenue brought in.
My gut feeling is that the Coaches / AD holds back on some of his public support because of all the recent NCAA issues from the JP area. I do not know this to be a fact, but I see other Coaches / AD's helping the collective publicly and from what I know of JH and Danny White, they are smart men but also cautious men. One wrong move and we take a further step back in scholarships. JH has recorded a few video's already encouraging fans to support the collectives. Very True until Collège Football is separated from the rest and set up like NFL conferences divisions and Playoffs with Super Bowl. It may be another 5 years before this happens but save College Football it needs to happen Asap. Good Conversation enjoyed. In CHRIST Alone.Yes. 5 STAR post imo!NIL helps us win.
Everyone who wants to state their opinion that NIL is bad, along with all your reasons not to donate, please post your opinions freely on all our rivals boards. Post them as often as you can. Talk back at their NIL reps. Dig your heels in!
You still get to state your opinion freely -- and you help us win at the same time!
This is the logical way to help our team and say your piece.
