Puffy Combs' son gets UCLA scholarship; People upset about it

Of course it is the same; he has earned a benefit (that could be converted into a financial sum) based upon his merit, yet his father has money and someone else might need that benefit more. Businesses are limited (due to scarcity of resources) in how many people they can hire; if lil' Diddy just worked for free, someone else could have a job, and he would be benefited that business that much more (as well as paying back some bull **** debt some people think Combs owes to society).

We disagree.

Exactly.

But only 85 on a roster.

You're making the assumption that the person whose parents aren't wealthy can't apply for pell grants or other financial aid based on there families means and walk on themselves. The kid played well enough to get the offer, he accepted, end story.

Or he got preferential treatment due to his name or something his dad may have done or promised and got the offer and accepted. We don't know.

I said second in tradition. UT isn't much better than UCLA at this point and our tradition is only a bit better. And no even with them being down they are in the middle of the pack. They have no trouble getting recruits usually so for them to reach for a prospect with such a bad offer list raises questions about if the kid really deserves it.

UCLA has plenty of tradition, but they have been in far more dire condition than UT for a much longer time. As far as current recruits are concerned, the location and quality of the campus and academics are about the only things UCLA has going.

It would be a good thing for the team if he paid to open up a scholarship for more talent.

Essentially getting in an extra recruit who could help the team. Shouldn't be criticized though.

Most fair statement. I can roll with that.

Maybe the fella doesn't want to live in his daddy's shadow and doesn't want his help
