If you graduated HS you can tell he is talking about the whole spring. He pointed out the two turnovers in the spring game vs the "twos". The he talks about how Rf has turned the ball over and had the catastrophic plays all spring.

If you really can't tell the second part was about the whole spring idk what to tell you. He talked in the present tense about the two picks. He then goes and talks in the past tense about Ferg having the most turnovers and catastrophic plays so far.

Plenty are saying Dobbs isn't capable. And you know this isn't about people saying RF MAY be 2nd team. Its about people bashing Dobbs. Its about people crowning a guy off HS film and "reports". But posting the negative "reports" on RF is downing him and writing him off? No its not. Just using the "reports" yall love so much. I don't think Rf is done. I also don't think he is the one like some do. If he wins the job I won't bash him and hope he messes up like other will do if Dobbs wins. But Ferg is no sure thing or way better talent than Dobbs like some think.

I believe Dobbs is more than capable as is Worley. I have no idea if Ferguson is, but the coaches and guys close to the program sure seem to think he is. I don't think I have to mention Peterman....personally can't get that .7 passer rating performance vs Fla out of my head.

People arent saying Dobbs isnt capable by saying hes had a few rough outings to compare to Riley's 1 rough outing. He also had fumbling issues this spring.

Try reading lexkyvols posts. Saying that Fergy doesnt belong in this system. Any report that is pro Fergy is a lie and a conspiracy, but every bad report on him is 100% true.

Saying things like this, "i'd say he already has a toe or 2 out the door already" and " but i don't think he fits this system, nor do i think he's very interested in it. if so, he'd watch more film, study more, and focus on making the correct reads".

^ these are the kind of things that are making us defend Fergy

Hey POA, I'm now 100% convinced that puke from Lexington is a troll. No way a true vol fan would go to the depths he's gone to slander that kid. It's one thing to express disappointment in a players performance....it's quite another to throw the crap around that he has. I've yet to ignore anybody on here in a year and a half, but that guy's got me rethinking my "no ignore" policy. He's a class a prick IMO.

When he said Worley and Ferg were the ones splitting first string snaps. Maybe that's just a SMOKE screen tho who knows... I took that as they were probaly leading. What do u take from that?

Thing is, regardless of QB.....we can not have turnovers. Fergy is a turnover machine. If he turns it over/takes sacks this much against our 1st team defense, then what will his turnovers/sacks be like against other Sec teams? Worley seems to protect the ball the most and that's the foundation. Dobbs is alot less likely to turn the ball over/take a sack than Fergy based on what we've seen and Dobbs' experience/mobility. We need to get to a bowl/start winning. Fergy's tattoos won't keep him from fumbling the ball or give him more experience.

Worley will start. But Dobbs/Ferg will be thrown into garbage time to get experience. When theyre in the game, it shouldnt affect the outcome of the game. So it really doesnt matter how much experience they have. Now this is unless Worley gets hurt or just flat out sucks this year.... then things change.

POA, I agree, but there won't be much garbage time with our schedule. I honesty think it will come down to how well our OL can buy time vs which QB wont turn the ball over and that can make plays from nothing. A Qb that has the ballz to run the ball and be a run threat changes everything for us(dobbs). We need all the help we can get at this point.... Drop back Brays with our OL youth that fumble and rarely run the ball is going to get us 5-7 at best. Worley/dobbs/peterman/fergy

Based on what we've seen? No offense, but we haven't seen anything besides the O&W game.

I don't want a QB who turns the ball over either and if Ferguson is then he won't play and I don't want him to play. But to label a kid a turnover machine when he's yet to take his first collegiate snap is a little much don't you think? And why the smart arse shot at Ferguson about his tats? Swear I don't understand the dislike for this kid when he's done nothing but compete for the job at this point. He may be 2nd string, he may be 4th string, but at some point he may under center this year. Are you gonna hate on the kid then too?

Worley is the only QB thats not a huge running threat. Reports on Ferguson that he actually held the ball on the read option a little to much because he wanted to run it. They also said he would lower himself to pick up extra yards. Dobbs has also been reported to fumble the ball. Peterman has taken a lot of sacks this spring because he held onto the ball to long. All 3 have things they need to fix.

I could see garbage time against.

UK
Bama/Oklahoma (if they have that much of a lead)

Garbage time isnt always a full 2nd half. A lot of times its just the last 2 or 3 series.

From listening to spring practice, he turns over...then O/W game.
Smart arse comment about tats was a smart arse jab at folks(maybe you love) that bashed Dobbs for not playing like a seasoned Senior QB a few months out of high school against bama,mizzuo......while pronouncing Riley the next hero just cause he looked the part,etc.
Although i think you are a total arse and you love to just argue with everyone one on VN...... There's no hate towards QB's from me, unless pointing out the odvious is hate.

People are determining that from the fact reporters said he was having a good spring, emerged as the leader in the QB group, and actually went against the first team D. I don't care who wins the job, I just want to win football games. But for these guys to come on here saying Dobbs is the guy because he had a good spring game is crazy. He never faced the first team defense and he only threw 2 TD's compared to 6 picks in 4 and a half games.

It's called debate Grow. I hardly argue with everybody on VN. Not even close. Outside of the USU guys on here lately I can count em on one hand. I've felt the need to defend Ferguson on here the exact same way I defended both Worley and Dobbs last season. The irrational criticism like you just leveled at him is ridiculous.
