QB competition..

Plenty of schools in the sec don't know who their starter will be right now....doesn't mean they don't have a potential top caliber SEC QB.... same goes for UT at the moment IMO. 2 years ago Manziel had a fairly poor spring practice for TAM and soon thereafter won the Heisman. Just sayin

No other school claims to have 4 people competing. The actual game resumes of each of ours, except you know the guy who hasn't played in a game, have done nothing to show top talent.

Don't disagree with you. But really, with all the QB turnover in the conference, who are the top caliber QBs? Wallace at Ole Miss maybe? Maybe Thompson at SCar or the kid at Mizzou? Then again, some stud may materialize that no one knows about right now.

I honestly believe we're gonna have much better QB play assuming the OL isn't just awful. I think Worley can be an above average SEC QB and everybody who sees Ferguson raves about his throwing ability.

I'm just looking at our potential QB play in relation to the rest of a conference which only makes sense to me and I think it can be "right there" with the overwhelming majority of the other teams in the league.

lots of turnover in the SEC this year, and lots of talent lost...
Bama has 3 competing for McCarron's job,UGA will have a new qb,probably Mason,
LSU,TAMU,and Vandy will all have new qb's... so to assume Worley or maybe Ferguson
will be in the top 1/2 isn't that far fetched... especially with UT's WR's...OL will tell the tale

Actually UK does and they would have 5 competing but one is hurt There are plenty of others including AL that currently have multiples competing for the starting QB position. However i think this needs to be figured out sooner rather than later for us. At least get it to two so they rotate with the ones.

It pretty much is to 2 right now. Worley and Ferguson are getting virtually all the snaps with the first team as of this week from what I've heard and read. Also heard Doug Matthews this morning say it's Worley and Ferguson, then Dobbs and Peterman pulling up the rear.

guys we will see what we have to work with on saturday. wont be a finished product but we should be looking for what we do alright and work on perfecting that. if we perfect the small things the big things will come. well see on saturday

That's far from having been determined.

Last I checked Butch Jones is the head coach not Doug Matthews.

That's true ... It is also true Worley and Ferguson are also getting more first team reps .

As of Saturday. Next practice, we'll see who it is. At one point Dobbs was getting the most Reps. Even Peterman was with the firsts while Worley and Ferguson with the 2nds. It changes from time to time as the coaches try to determine who's top dog, under dog, and under, under dog. And finally clipboard holders 1 and 2.

It was reported this week by Daniel Lewis, who was there for the scrimmage, that Ferguson and Worley were the only 2 QBs who ran with the 1s. He said Ferguson had 9 series, Worley had 7.

Matthews was up there for 2 days this week. He has a good relationship with both Butch and Bob Welton. He doesn't have to be the head coach to share what he knows. Obviously I know who he is.

As of right now it is definitely Worley 1 and Ferguson 2. Again, I said as of RIGHT NOW, like I said in the post you responded to. I've heard and read this from numerous sources... Matthews, Brice, Hubbs, Lewis, Ainge, Swain off the top of my head.

Of course it could change but I doubt it will. Btw, I know you're anti- Ferguson. Myself, I like Dobbs but ultimately just want the best guy to play and win. But that's just where it appears to stand right now. Of course there's a long way to go til Aug 30

Btw, I just checked to make sure..... Butch Jones is the head football coach at UT..... so we agree on that.

It looked to me that this started to change this past week, away from w here all 4 QBs got 25% of the plays with the first team, just from all I read and heard. It clearly was Worley and Ferguson getting the majority of the first team reps, culminating with the Saturday scrimmage where Worley and Ferguson were the only first team QBs.

You could be right that it flips again this week but I don't think so. Everyone's been talking about a QB needing to separate himself from the others and that clearly began to happen last week....it was Worley and Ferguson separating from Dobbs and Peterman.

I like Dobbs speed and intelligence but it sounds as if he's still making too many mistakes.

IMO, Ferguson will have to take it away from Worley. Being "equal to" won't be enough.

Peterman sounds like the odd man out with a tough decision to make about his future. As a RS Soph, now is his time to move if he wants to try another BCS program.

Why are you banging on Matthews? He was coaching for freaking Vandy. How about listing UTs defense results with him as D Coord?
