Lol …. Dude… do you hear yourself?
Alright guys I’m here to develop all of you, we are going to lose every game but by god you’ll develop….
Lol, dunno about your High School but mine has won championships and I don’t think anyone would complain because they didn’t “develop”
I'm sure a team that is top 10 in the nation with a SEC QB and an Ohio State DE would be just fine lol. I get the common schools. Who I'm talking about is the elite schools like Center Grove. Brett Favre was at a small school in Mississippi, not known for recruits. That's fine, try to win there. But when you consistently have some of the best talent in the entire nation like CG has and a top 10 QB in the nation, you would think they would try to get the most out of him
I'm basically saying if you are an elite school with an elite QB that is obviously going to win it your state championship, let your QB showcase his skillset. CG is going to win the state championship every year probably and Tayven gets less than 10 passing attempts per game. Everyone knows they are gonna win so let the kid show what he can do. Obviously this is only for a select few schools but I hope that clears it upSo completely change your philosophy to something else that you don’t know will work or not.
When you have been teaching a system for years that you know works and have had kids being brought up in for 4 years….
I don’t understand your logic…. They aren’t pro athletes. If they want to “develop” they need to go to Camps and Develop there and join 7v7 teams and go to places where they can work on technique etc.
If you are a good player you will stand out.
Just willy nilly switch to an offense different from what they’ve been taught since (at least) middle school and (more importantly) WON championships with to…accomadate maybe 2-3 players who’ve got a few more letters from the next level? Isn’t that SELFISH? Is the OL capable of switching to a spread or West Coast offense? If they lose more games while the coaches and players learn the new offense, does that help fringe prospects on the team? How does switching the offense help their lone 5 star player on DEFENSE?I'm sure a team that is top 10 in the nation with a SEC QB and an Ohio State DE would be just fine lol. You don’t “obviously” win jack if you switch everything up for one player.I'm basically saying if you are an elite school with an elite QB that is obviously going to win it your state championship, let your QB showcase his skillset. I was just using Curry to show that they have elite players. I get that it isn't an easy switch and I'm not telling them to switch. Just a pet peeve of mine when teams that is going to win no matter what kind of hides their QB. I don't care what system Tayven comes from and he is gonna be a good QB, just a pet peeve of mine. If it works, keep it, but the college game is turning into the polar opposite of it for the most part.Just willy nilly switch to an offense different from what they’ve been taught since (at least) middle school and (more importantly) WON championships with to…accomadate maybe 2-3 players who’ve got a few more letters from the next level? Yeah…because he ran the wishbone. Not at the Jerry Tagge or Turner Gill level. Oklahoma recruited and signed Troy Aikman with the promise of opening up the passing game. Didn’t win enough and he went with Jamielle Holloway after Troy got dinged up…immediately won a NC. Selfish? For the program…yeah. Also worth mentioning that Southern Miss was the only school that offered Favre. And the major thing there is Nebraska was the team at the top of the rankings when he was in high school. At least camps make this less of an issue now!!
They just won their "big game" 41-14. I'm sure they would be fine if an SEC caliber QB threw a couple more times. Obviously not telling them to change what works and you can't just change that. Like I said earlier, just a pet peeve of mineYou don’t “obviously” win jack if you switch everything up for one player.
There’s no such thing as “win no matter what”. You win with what you can teach and instill. Chris Simms ran the Wing T and was the top ranked QB out of high school. Talent finds a way.I was just using Curry to show that they have elite players. I get that it isn't an easy switch and I'm not telling them to switch. Glad YOU’RE sure. Their coach has a responsibility to the community, program and the rest of the kids. They just won their "big game" 41-14. Who else do they have on their team?I'm sure a team that is top 10 in the nation with a SEC QB and an Ohio State DE would be just fine lol. I get the common schools. What you saying absolutely applies to young players and development. High School football is not the same situation. You do realize what a miniscule number is high school players will play in college? HS coaches are supposed to win games.Say what you want but I think running a wing T offense in high school is very selfish. It values winning over player development. I get it for some schools that really need to use it but schools that are a top 10 team in the nation and have multiple top247 recruits shouldn't be using it imo. It's kinda like running a zone defense in basketball for young, young kids. It will win you a ton of games because nobody can shoot at a high level but the kids don't get any development out of that system
Yeah, I was talking about teams like Center Grove who is #10 in the nation according to Maxpreps and just beat the #2 team in the state by 28 while running the clock out with their offense. Probably a good thing they do it so they destroy everyone lol. You are right tho and there is no point in complaining about it. Just not a fan of itWhat you saying absolutely applies to young players and development. High School football is not the same situation. I have no problem with them running the ball and saving our QB from possible injury when they are wining without him having to be in harms way every play.I'm sure a team that is top 10 in the nation with a SEC QB and an Ohio State DE would be just fine lol. You realize Heupel had months and years with them other guys and has literally just had weeks with Milton, right?Joe Milton- Can’t complete wide open throws
So one bad QB overshadows all his other successful QBs?
Cool.
His comment was blue font intended. You realize Heupel had months and years with them other guys and has literally just had weeks with Milton, right?
Plus coach has to get Milton to "unlearn" any bad habits and mechanics he has already developed...most of them other cats were a "blank slate" when Heupel got a hold of them.
Huepel cant force someone to work hard outside of practiceYou realize Heupel had months and years with them other guys and has literally just had weeks with Milton, right?
