Quality Win Update for SEC teams

Exactly how is assembling a class good enough to win as sophs, as well as having families wealthy enough to allow them to stay an extra season in college, not the textbook definition of "lightning in a bottle?"

Many people interpret that his success with those teams had little to do with his coaching ability and I find that a bit hard to swallow.

There are a whole bunch of guys who haven't spent the rest of their careers getting blown out of the NCAAs by Manhattan who would have had no problem winning with that Florida team.

Donovan is similar to Fulmer in my book. A good enough coach to not be able to get in the way of a ton of talent and bring home a title yet not good enough to coach lesser talent up, as evident in his last three years.

Just checked Bracketology and they now have 4 SEC teams in the field of 65. The first one out, according to them, would be Miss St. They will win 4 of their last 5 (and they'll be incredibly jacked up for the TN game which, I currently have as their lone loss in the last five, and that is bad for UT b/c they have bigs for days, and UT struggles against bigs) almost for sure. They did beat UCLA in LA, Houston on the road, and Mississippi on the road. If they can win one in the SEC Tourney, I would bet they were in at 23-10 (11-7). The 2 wins over Ole Miss would supersede the slightly better record for The Rebels seen below because...

Ole Miss can win their last 5, and they have no bad losses. A win or two in the SEC Tourney and they could easily slip in the field, as well at 23-9 (11-7). They 2 losses to Miss St could be the deciding factor on their resume if...

Florida goes on a crazy streak and wins 3 of their last 5. IF this happens, Florida would be in, even with no wins in the SEC Tourney and Ole Miss would probably be the first team out of the NCAAs, but....

Florida is going to lose 4 of their last 5.... They are not going to the big one. But the NIT better watch out for this band of chronic underachievers...

That, of course, puts 5 SEC teams in the NCAAs. I stated this the other day without much to back it up, but after really looking into it, I feel confident that this could happen.

And by the way, if UT can win out, or even 4 of the last 5, and then win two in the SEC Tourney, we could be looking at a 4 (or really even a 3, if the committee overseeds us again) seed with a possible 26-7 (14-5) OR 25-7 (13-5) record...

Holla!

I really like to see how predictions I make pan out; not just make them and forget. Sooooo, according to Glockner the SEC could very well get 5 teams in the tournament!

Minnesota is beating the crap out of Purdue right now. If the score holds, that will put 6 Big Ten teams in the tournament, something that more than one of the posters in this forum said would happen. We were told it was ridiculous. Thank you.

Minnesota has been playing great as of late.

If they play like this, they are going to be a tough out for anyone. Would love to see them in Kentucky's bracket. If they got to Kentucky, they would likely get blasted, but the drama would be fun.

On a side note, Purdue isn't going to make it through the first weekend. Hummel's absence is glaring against quality opponents.

Purdue needs to just go ahead and hop on the bus, they should be absolutely embarrassed right now.

Florida doesn't want to see NC State win against Ga Tech either. Not saying NCSU can or will beat Duke, but that definitely steals a bid
