If the SEC wants more than 3 bids, they better root for Florida against Ole Miss Saturday. Otherwise, it starts to look like UT, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt will be the league's only representatives.

They really haven't beaten anyone. If they get an at large bid, there are going to be several teams screaming bloody murder on Selection Sunday. In theory, State could win out and IMO should win 4 or 5. Would 22 or 23 wins not do it for them? OOC losses too bad?
Then again, they are in the west so who knows.
States last chance was against us Tuesday night. I don't see an at large bid for them, without the planets aligning.
You two are probably right. About the only way they could get an at large now would get to 22 or 23 wins in the regular season and then make the SEC tournament final. That gets them beating either UK or Vandy.
UCLA and Houston are .500 teams. Nobody gives a damn about wins over them.Just checked Bracketology and they now have 4 SEC teams in the field of 65. The first one out, according to them, would be Miss St. They will win 4 of their last 5 (and they'll be incredibly jacked up for the TN game, which is bad for UT b/c they have bigs for days, and we struggle against bigs) almost for sure. They did beat UCLA in LA, Houston on the road, and Mississippi on the road. If they can win one in the SEC Tourney, I would bet they were in at 23-10 (11-7). The 2 wins over Ole Miss would supersede the slightly better record for The Rebels seen below...
Ole Miss can win there last 5, and they have no bad losses. A win or in the SEC Tourney and they could easily slip in the field, as well at 23-9 (11-7). They 2 losses to Miss St could be the deciding factor on their resume if...
Florida goes on a crazy streak and wins 3 of their last 5. IF this happens, Florida would be in, even with no wins in the SEC Tourney and Ole Miss would probably be the first team out of the NCAAs, but....
Florida is going to lose 4 of their last 5.... They are not going to the big one. But the NIT better watch out for this band of chronic underachievers...
That, of course, puts 5 SEC teams in the NCAAs. I stated this the other day without much to back it up, but after really looking into it, I feel confident that this could happen.
And by the way, if UT can win out, or even 4 of the last 5, and then win two in the SEC Tourney, we could be looking at a 4 seed with a 25-7 (13-5) or 24-8 (12-6) record...
Holla!
Ole Miss has a home loss to Arkansas. That's not a bad loss, it's an atrocious one.Just checked Bracketology and they now have 4 SEC teams in the field of 65. So, if Ole Miss finishes 23-9 (11-7), you don't think they're in the field of 65?
I can understand why you'd think that. I was floored when Vandy didn't get in last year with a 10-6 SEC regular season record.
Is the SEC capped at 4 this year?
