question about homosexuality

in your opinion are the gay people born that way or do they make a choice to be gay?

Actually, over the years I have found a few that were a bit repulsive myself. Did not sway my heterosexual leanings though.

Same here. I haven't found any that have kept me from poking them with my one-eyed wonder, but I have abstained from chowing down plenty of times. I can't eat Arby's roast beef anymore.

All I have to say about this is why in God's name does it matter. What two adults do in their bedroom is of no concern to me. Also with how bigoted society can be why would you choose to make your life more difficult that it would have been in the first place. Some people are born to like the same sex and some are born to like the opposite. Do you think some dude just woke up one day and was like "You know what I'd like some penis today."

I agree. I don't think anyone would choose that for themselves, if it was a choice. No children with your SO, plus the social stigma. I thought there were studies where if the mother had a lot of testosterone in her system during the pregnancy, they were more likely to be homosexual.

Edit: Not to be twisted i stated god made us in his likeness. Not born perfect. But if we are made to be like him why would he let a child be born to have a mind set that is an abomination unto him?

The reason i got into thia convo is bc my son will be born early sept .. my first and i will not accept that my son that god has given to me that he has made will come out with any chance of being homosexual.

I usually try to be respectful of everyone's opinions, especially on touchy subjects like this. The tone of the following post is calm and collected, no hostility implied whatsoever.

BUT the reason for the hostility may be because you are so incredibly off base here. I wish I could say, "you bring up a good point, but yaddi yaddi yadda...." but you don't at all. This thread has multiple pages of you arguing with a homosexual about what he feels and what he has gone through. The guy was telling you the way it is, I mean LITERALLY telling you what actually happens, and you somehow say he's wrong.

Look man, you obviously don't have much experience with gay people outside of what you see on TV. The concept is actually very simple and very intuitive. Everyone is on your case because you're wrong. I wish I could put a positive spin on it, but there's just nothing you've said that has made any sense.

Yes. It's actually a hot topic at BYU. Plenty of students have claimed to be gay, but supposedly have never acted on those impulses (or have ceased to act) because they don't want to be at odds with their beliefs.

How hard is it to say, "We will agree to disagree on the matter", instead of going into a spill about how I don't know anything, especially when you don't know me as well?? You assumed A LOT more in your post about me, than you even realize.

So, how can someone be a homosexual, without acting on those impulses?? Also, you can't be a heterosexual without acting on the impulses as well. You are undecided, at least IMO, until you act upon those urges and feelings.

I never once attacked you with words on this bored only stated my feelings toward this subject.

To act as if I will be a horrible parent by a few post you have read on a message bored is pathetic and really immature. I like any parent will teach my son what i believe is the way to live a good life. To respect those around him and his elders. To always be humble and thankful. I will teach my son to live by the standerds that God has set for man. I wonder if you were a parent would you teach your son or daughter to accept something you didnt believe was right? You believe homosexuality is ok so why would you teach your son it is wrong? Do i apply to a different standerd?

If you are sexually attracted to the opposite sex, then you are a heterosexual (noun).

If you are sexually attracted to the same sex, then you are a homosexual (noun).

If you have sex with a member of the opposite sex, then that sex act is correctly labeled with the adjective "heterosexual"; thus, it is a heterosexual act.

If you have sex with a member of the same sex, then that sex act is correctly labeled with the adjective "homosexual"; thus, it is a homosexual act.
