I agree. I think we tried for better options but the timing and situation with the talent level/expectations were enough to keep us from getting anyone better.

I wonder if Hamilton wasn't under the gun to save his behind if we even make this move or just promote an interim guy and see how the seasons shakes out.

What do you guys consider a successful season? I mean if Dooley wins 6 games and recruits well I think that is a good start with this schedule.

Having more knowledge than another HC isn't necessarily what puts you over the top, it's who you surround yourself with, on and off the field. It's going to take a couple of years to get our current roster coached up to the point that they can compete with most anyone. We have great assistants, IMO. As long as Dooley knows how to get the most out of those guys, he will be fine.
