Rally to Restore Sanity
October 30, 2010.

Is anyone here going to this? Obviously this is going to be constantly compared to Glenn Becks rally. Which rally do you think will have the bigger turnout? If I was a gamblin' man, I'd put the mortgage on this one.

Doubt it. I'm a big fan of the Stewart/Colbert team, but there's no way they match Beck's promotional masterpiece.

I think it's funny that the Dems are hoping to capitalize on this for a GOTV operation. The thoughts of the party in control having to rely on two guys from Comedy Central to bail them out.

Very good thread because, obviously, whoever draws the biggest crowd is therefore correct.

I think the Left is still saying Beck drew about 10K. So a normal day of the kickball tournaments on the Mall will beat that total.

we usually only have a couple thousand at the one in DC. Now the Vegas tourney is about that size

i'd say a lousy crowd certainly argues there isn't a groundswell of people outraged by the tea party's "hate speech" as you have been arguing.

I'd say this rally is about two years too late. After Bush we certainly needed some responsible and effective leadership, instead we got Obama. I will support any person, regardless of political affiliation, if he or she truly wants sanity and soundness restored to our nations highest office 100%.

On one of my business trips to DC I walked the Mall dressed up one afternoon after work. I was walking the gravel path in between two kick ball games. Some young coed was running to get the ball not looking and plowed right into me. I was in pain and covered in dirt but I have to say with what was on top of me begging for forgiveness, I cared less about the pain and dirt at the time. I'm a big fan of kickball....

Good times....

Considering this rally is generally a slap in the face to "outraged people," I think that would be a hard conclusion to come to.

I thought some Dems were pissed because they thought this might actually harm their GOTV operation?

Some are. But many are hoping that a large turnout seen on television will get enough coverage and comparisons to Beck's outing that it inspires a base to say 'yes we can' one more time.

"Fatigued" = the new buzz word. Seemed to be the choice buzzword from that town hall as well.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.

What the hell could possibly go wrong?

And the champions of Obamacare are going to restore us to sanity???

If it's the same as adultery, it's got to be the same as extramarital sex, right? Or am I missing something?

First of all it was a joke. Second of all what exactly are you quoting?

What is your point? Christians do sin you know.
