Well, while it is important to have accurate evaluations on the players, it doesn't mean anything if I don't know what the staff feels about these players.
Agreed. Coleman and Brick Oettenger at Prepstars are really plugged in with the coaches around the country.

Yeah, but I really don't wanna pay for 2-3 websites. 1 is enough for me.
Fair enough. I'm intrigued by these reports that have Pearl trying to make Ramar a point. That would be interesting to watch.

I don't know. I've always heard that Ramar doesn't have good handles, but I've also heard he runs alot of point in AAU. IMO, at most, Smith will be a pg for 2 years and then switch to the 2. He will prolly play alot of 1,2 and 3 for us if we get him though.

Well, maybe not 3. I've seen his height at 6'1" and I've seen it at 6'4". If the latter, he will play some 3. If the former, then he will only play 1 and 2.

From what I've seen the couple of times I've watched him in the summer, I just don't think you could put Ramar in a primary ballhandling role without really curtailing what he does well.

From what I've heard, he is best at driving and defense. I think we need a player that can drive at the point. I could see him as a Rondo type point.

Doesn't handle the ball nearly that well. Also, most of his drives are slashes from the wing. He doesn't have that much experience attacking from the top of the offense.

Then we could have him drive the ball into the frontcourt and have Dane run the offense from there with Smith covering the wing.

I won't bother rehashing my position on Dane being a primary ballhandler.

He did that enough this year. He doesn't have to run the point, just the half court offense. He did that more than anyone other than Watson this year. If Pearl doesn't feel he can run it efficiently enough, he may have to live without Smith getting alot of chances from the wing. Either way, we won't have one player that handles the ball most of the time. That isn't Pearl's style.

It will be Point by committee
ie situational Point Guarding if you will.
Smith if they get him
Johnson
Tabb
Bradshaw
and
Howell

That may be the case, I'm not so sure though. We will likely need Johnson and Bradshaw the 3 alot since we won't have any others for that position. Howell, Tabb, and Smith will play it for sure though.

True, but a lot of that was with him being guarded by 4s. I just think Bradshaw handling the ball guarded by the Corey Brewers and Rajon Rondos of the world would be a recipe for disaster.

On the bright side, maybe Jordan Howell develops into the player Jim Harrick thought he would be.

Yes he is. We may see 3 freshmen starting next year at the 1, 4, and 5 with Smith, Crews, and Chism. Lofton and Bradshaw would be the other starters. IMO, Smith and Crews would start for sure and we'd have to see how Chism and Wingate do in practice.

Well, I don't think he would see Rondo next year because I think he will make the jump. I don't think he would see Brewer because I think Brewer will be on Lofton.

Crews is versatile and athletic enough, you could go big and play him at the three. That's the position G'Town envisioned him playing.

Yes, but G'town has a different style then us. We need him inside because we don't have much more of an option for the 4. We have him and Childress because I don't know if we can get Chism into a good enough shape to play the 4 for us. We can get him in the shape for center for sure, but the 4 would be a stretch.

We played Bradshaw at the 4 this year. I think Chism can get in condition to play at PF. He's in much better shape than someone like Damien Harris.

Yeah, but noone ever said Harris would play the 4. Bradshaw is in a better shape then Chism will be. He was overmatched because of size. Crews can play the 3, but I don't think he will play it that much. Not when we have 2 players to play it already.

Another reason we need Crews at the 4 is for rebounding. He should be closer to the basket at the 4 than at the 3 and we need him inside for the boards.

I think Lofton, Bradshaw, and Major have the starting possitions locked. Pearl loves Major, and hes showed he can play when he wants to. If he develops to play like he did in the Big Dance, he could be a very good player. I see Howell fighting with the fresh for starting job, and the 4 position will be up with grabs for Crews and Chism
