Well, its good to see that its a guarantee that a top 50 player will be a success in the NCAA. I thought that some players don't always translate, I guess I heard wrong. Just because they play more doesn't mean that they will breakout.

I also remember how Lofton was nothing more than a straight shooter last year and has learned a few new tricks, ala JJ Redick from his SO to JR years.
Excatly where have we seen these "new tricks?" I'll believe he's developed a midrange game when I see it.

Just like I'll believe a 6-11 195 lb post will breakout in the SEC when I see it. From posters that have attended the pickup games, he has lost alot of weight, making him quicker. He attacks the lane more. And has developed a better pullup jumper.

Some guys don't pan out. These two will.

I'm glad to hear he's quicker. That should upgrade him to merely slow, up from leadfooted.

And it is always enlightening to see that you never can say anything positive about your own players yet you praise any opponents players. It really does baffle the mind how you consider your self a fan. Yeah you donate, blah blah blah.

O, you still didn't answer the depth issue. What are they gonna do if somehow we get our running game going and they tire down, especially Big Baby? O and cut the "my argument wins because it is mine though I have no proof why" bs.

How deep into the bench did the Tigers go last year? I think going about 7 deep worked out pretty well for them last year.

Yeah, they had Thomas last year too. Remember when we got on the fast break, or anyone of that matter against them? An easy layup or jam was turned into an awkward miss or a big block with him on the court. They don't have that now. Big Baby also got pretty tired against UCLA and most teams that beat them. We also didn't go deep last year so we couldn't push it like we wanted.

LSU will block as many shots as a team this year as they did last.

Who will be blocking them? Big Baby? LOL, not unless he's playing against middle schoolers. Maybe Rolle, but the rest shouldn't be blocking too many or they will be suspect outside.

Who saw UF, UCLA, GM, or LSU(once Tack went down) as Final 4 contenders before last year?

kd, don't kid yourself. That isn't what is preventing wit.

You're right. It's the lack of a point guard.

If you'll remember, I said LSU had Final Four talent in December last year. UCLA and Florida were 2 seeds, I don't think anyone was terribly shocked to see them in the Final Four. As to your first question, Tasmin Mitchell and Dameon Mason will block more shots than any pair of wing players in the country.

Big Baby has lost weight, so he can last longer in games. I'm sure the rest of the LSU squad has improved their game as well. It's funny how you think all our players will improve dramatically in the offseason, yet LSU's will not.

I never said they wouldn't. I know Davis has lost weight, but they weight also helped him push people around last year. He may last longer, but 7 players won't last longer that 12.

Unless there's been a rules change I missed, you still only play 5 at a time.

I said before last year hat, not halfway into the season or after the seeds were given out. It's good that their wings will be blocking shots, but that doesn't have the same effect that TT gave them.

You also mentioned earlier that LSU depends heavily on top 50 recruits which may not pan out. Yet, our depth on our team is dependent on the talent in our latest recruiting class. If anyone is likely to have busts, it is us. LSU has more guys that have shown something on an SEC court.

I noticed that after I added my post. UCLA would have been the only team of that group that I would have thought had a good shot of reaching the Final Four last October. After seeing UF live in the Garden and getting a load of Thomas in Vegas, I wasn't surprised at the success they had.

Kpt, who claimed which team was better first? Neither of us is right, he thinks LSU's players will be better while I think the opposite(if Ramar is in). Only time will tell. Both teams are banking on players that haven't did alot, or nothing.

Damnit hat, I'm not spelling it out for you and you know what I mean.
I simply think depth is the most overrated factor in college basketball. Look at the best team of the last 20 years in college basketball. Very few went more than 7-8 deep.
