Rand Paul allegedly detained by TSA

Hey he's just like anyone else, just because he's a political figure does not excuse him from going through the check point for an extra security measure. Be a big boy, do what you gotta do and move on to his flight.

But to be clear he did try to go back through the scanner and TSA wouldn't let him, he asked 2 times and they refused.

Get your facts straight.

And yes the constitution would protect the senator. Not in the sense that he wouldn't be held accountable for a felony, but they can't prevent him from voting in the senate if he's en route.

You should cut your losses and stop posting.

Clearly you need to go back and examine the 1772 banning of boarding a horse-drawn cart with a lit torch and/or shaving supplies.

I hope you did not attend the University of Tennessee.

You don't appear to have attended any college, so I don't know what you're getting at.

I am very proud to have graduated with multiple degrees from the University of Tennessee.

UT undergraduate, UT MBA, UT Law School

When you get your GED, we can continue this discussion.

Here are the facts:

Rand Paul refused a full body pat-down when they told him the machine found an anomaly around his knee. He said he would be happy to go through the machine again. He believes the machines are programmed to buzz so they can search people at random. He says the strategy for all of us to avoid a search is to ask to go through the machine again (it likely won't buzz). They wouldn't allow him to go through again. He lifted his pant leg and showed them his knee and that there was nothing there and asked, "Can I go through the scanner again?" They refused him. They held him in a cubicle for the next 90 minutes. Finally told him he was free to go, but that he had to start security all over.

You said that Rand Paul tried to board a plane illegally. I don't think you can have a law degree and simultaneously so badly misunderstand the simple facts of a case. I'm calling BS.

since he's stated his objections prior and stood on those objections I don't see it as claiming to be above the rules (e.g. Alec Baldwin playing Words with Friends on the plane).

also, the law was on his side so he wasn't claiming to be above the law.

It was still a douchebag move.

I really don't understand why people get so riled up by this. I have been patted down like 6 times, it's not bad at all. You get patted down now going to most sports events. Where is the outrage there?

Or people that hold up a security line at an airport because they are 'taking a stand'.

As far as I know he didn't hold up the line. He went through the scanner and then was taken aside. Are you hearing reports of people complaining about Paul delaying them?

And if he were a douchebag, he would've said, "Do you know who I am?". He never even told them who he was.

I've been in too many airport lines. I just want to get through security as quick as I possibly can. People who make that more difficult get on my bad side.

Hmm....I've never been delayed by anybody else because of their interaction with security. There's about a 10 second delay where they get them out of the way of the line. That's it.
