carroll is visiting UT this weekend, but i've heard from multiple seperate sources that he is close to commiting to cal. this kid might be one of those recruits that talks up every coaching staff. I'd agree with those who say it's between cal and sc.
well it's between rutgers and syracuse (i think). But he and his father have been all over the place bashing sc saying that they wouldn't give him a redshirt when he was injured and didn't take his injuries seriously. apparently he knows carroll (not sure how).
I don't think you can really say one is better than the other though. As far as WR's, it's hard to determine anything specific about who's better in the top 5.
I'd have
Steve Smith
Andre Johnson
Calvin Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Anquan Boldin

Speaking of Jackson.... That dude almost single handedly cost the Eagles the Washington game and possibly the playoffs. How many TD passes did he drop yesterday?!?!?

I wouldn't put Calvin Johnson in the top 5 after just one great season. Roy Williams had a season just like that with the Lions and hasn't ever been able to repeat.
Randel Carroll could be a corner stone of this class. Landing him would send shockwaves through the cali area. I would love to get him. Do your think Kif!!!
I think we have a good shot at him. He is a big fan of Kiffin. He said he talks to Lane all the time. He has the NFL on his mind and Kiffin is trying to create a pipeline to the league.
The visit went well enough that the 5-foot-11, 175 pound wide out will be in Knoxville next month to see things up close.
"The biggest attraction at this point is coach Kiffin," Carroll said. "His offense is what they are running at Southern Cal. He is taking that to the SEC. Coach Reaves talked to me and showed me how they use receivers in the offense and pointed out what coach Kiffin did with Mike Williams as a freshman and a sophomore. Coach Reaves said that is how they would like to use me."
